Re: WiS: the manual

Had a quick browse of the manual...

For example, having UK dictating a peace to Romania will
prevent the Germans from receiving any further support
(including the ability to use Romanian airfields and ports)

what??

Under the section on anti invasion forces it specifically talks about ...

Re: Will we get a Steam key at some point?

Based on past experience with Matrix games that have released on their store prior to releasing on Steam like Shadow Empire as soon as it gets a Steam release (assuming it does) then the steam key is put on your Matrix account "My Games" page next to the title .

Never had a problem.

Re: no tutorials

I bought this game cause I read they were going to have tutorials for this game so I can finally learn a Gary Grigsby game. But just empty promises so far. This is going in the virtual dust bin along with War in the Pacific and Warplan Orange. I really need to stop buying games from Slitherine ...

perfect
There is zero personal content in Cannae's videos but I get some folk prefer shorter key point videos.

Worth considering though if you get stuck.

Re: Fantabulous!

Many thanks for the response.

As someone who is not into wired in Alt history designs in games such as this I am extremely reassured by your answer.

Although I have read a few books on the subject including Paul Preston's fairly partisan account the explanatory pop ups are also good and will ...

Re: Fantabulous!

Agree with the OP completely.

The SCW is such an under represented theatre in serious wargames (the treatment of it in Panzer Campaigns 2 was a war crime in itself :D ).

Will there be any political " events" to simulate the very fluid politics of the various regional and political factions and if ...

Really enjoying watching this series.

It is a great game and this and the East African campaigns are my absolute favorite scenarios.

Thanks for posting.

Re: Unit Purchase

One small thing, I would like a way to purchase units fully upgraded (to whatever tek I have) with a single click rather than having to flick around the little rockers for each unit for each tek and level. Just another button that you click to get a “maxed out” unit.

The issue with that is that ...

Re: Weak Forts in Key Southern Cities

The warps take the same amount time, no? These should remain.

Like many irregular units:
Marines
Rangers
Indians

All of them should be closer to regiment sized 5 strength units to reflect what they were. The US Marines in the ACW were IIRC < 5000 total men.

Agree regarding the size of ...

Hey! I wasn't sure where to write this, but I just want to say thank you for creating accessible wargames, specifically the Strategic Command games. I'm only 26, (I jokingly refer to these games as the older gentleman games) but I have a passion for history/military history.
I've been bonding ...

Re: General Tech

The Confederate Generals are much better than their Union opposite numbers and by a big amount early on. Heck, as the Rebs it makes sense to sack/ replace Polk (4 ) when he arrives by event with Lee (8) if you havent done it earlier.

The Union simply don't have that option earlier in the war. The ...
