Heh, yep that was it. I moved all the .wmv files to a temp directory and now the game loads.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do suspect that it has something to do with intro movie but there are no .bik files, only .wmv's . I can play the movies individually without problem, the game intro doesnt seem able to.
