RE: PBEM game repeatedly avoiding battles

<t> Each battle in a distinct location works out at 50% chance to avoid but as we have potential battles in 4 seperate locations all avoided that gives us 1/16 this turn add in three more locations avoided last turn and you get 1/16*1/8 = 1/128 but that is in effect immaterial as both sides were ...

RE: PBEM game repeatedly avoiding battles

<t> Yep both seeking battle, also we have failed to initiate a battle in 4 seperate locations this turn alone in which I was seeking battle. Plus 3 last turn where I was also seeking battle.<br/>
So even if Soeren was avoiding then at 50% for the turn in each location you get 50%*50%*50%*50%*50%*50 ...

RE: PBEM game repeatedly avoiding battles

<t> OK sent the last couple of turns through to you Eric.<br/>
Does occur to me that there could be some relation to the fact that I changed from avoid battle to seek battle either in the turn that I moved into the same area as the enemy or after a turn of avoid battle in that area.<br/>
So I ...

PBEM game repeatedly avoiding battles

<t> Is it possible for myself and my opponent to take out our generals and shoot them? We are having a repeating problem with armies in the same location both armies set to seek battle but no battle happens we just get a long list of "battle avoided in" reports.<br/>
At first I thought my opponent ...

<t> No1 point for the north Use your navy.<br/>
<br/>
Have a couple of divisions available to use as marines and use that navy to drop them on the southern coast and snipe at coastal cities. If you can then give them seige abilities. You can pick out the dregs from the army and use them if you ...

RE: Scenarios

<t> Well rules already exist for the Tyrollean revolt corps and for Austrian insurrection corps and for Spannish Guerillas. How much more work is it to combine a revolt corps with guerillas for Islamic minors. If combined total of Islamic guerillas >20? then Turkey may place the Mahdi revolt corps ...

Just wonder from Mardonius's post if a rule should be in place to give the Islamic minors guerilla ability for Turkey while under the non free state rule of a Christian country.

RE: bizarre behavior in alabama

Your not making the same mistake that I did and playing on the "Standard" scenario are you? This is very not standard and dates back to the first pre-patch version and is HEAVILY biased towards the south. Try Southern Steel much more historical.

<t> One other point, historically GB did not invade and conquer North Africa and as a result we do not know what would have happened with North African troops in the British army, what I would suggest is that elsewhere where GB did conquer/ally and then employ local&nbsp;forces these troops were ...

RE: Scenarios

<t> I agree very few North Africans were employed in the British forces, although I would hazard a guess that some were used in the navy as Morocco and Algeria both had a long history of good seamanship.<br/>
On the other hand of course there is no game mechanic to represent the small numbers of ...

RE: Scenarios

<t> Don't focus so much on units as in infantry and cavalry, GB also has ships and a lot of the sailors and marines were from many other countries. 5% of the sailors in Nelosons fleet were "blacks" equally Portugese, Spanish, and even French sailors were used aboard British ships. Remember that it ...

RE: Scenarios

<t> Well in 1792 and throughout the napoleonic era GB did not have the manpower in india to ship it back to europe, although Sepoy troops were used in the attacks on Manila and in Southern Africa. Equally Australia had to few people to contribute any manpower and Africa was a very minor part of the ...

RE: Update

<t> In the UK Petrol costs are equally high and that is just down to tax approaching 80% of the cost. The tax is roughly a third of that on bio-diesel and LPG so some argument can be made that it really is down to enviromentalism and energy conservation. Bio-Diesel is effectively $4 a US Gallon ...
