Re: Air refuel

Wow this goes back a long way. For a time this wasn't working in ANW. I recall attaching the refueling plane into the group, then toggling the group to show individual planes, and then doing the steps you outlined, and that seemed to work. But I can't remember if that was in play before or after the ...

RE: The Complete Carriers At War Guide

<t> Looking for info on this game, have PM'd one of the posters but don't know if he'll get it, so I'm asking here as well.<br/>
Hi--I had this game many, many moons ago and am considering a re-purchase. I have some questions and hope you can answer them:<br/>
1. Is the Matrix $39 version Win 10 ...

RE: How do you make dipping sonar stop at each waypoint?

<t> A helo with an ASW loadout will automatically dip once it hits 0 knots and hover altitude. The calc is done instantly, invisible to you but you can confirm with AA reports enabled. It will immediately move on to the next command in the Wpt Edit script (a pause would be superfluous) unless the ...

RE: How do you make dipping sonar stop at each waypoint?

<t> Once your waypoints are set, select one of them and enter instructions in the order that you want them to occur. Then use the Edit Wpt Orders in the Settings drop-down window to check them. I have found this to be kind of clunky so I didn't use it a lot, other than to delete a waypoint action ...

RE: Is this Forum for H3 ANW still active?

<t> Looks like the last entry is a couple years old, so probably no, but the info and links contained in this forum are essential to playing the game. There might be additional info at subsim.com , if that site is still alive. I still play the game often, trying to get my plan just right. Still hard ...

RE: Installation of H3_ANW_UE in Win 10

<t> I'm ruining it on Win 10 with no issues. The serial number is the one they supplied when I paid for the Ultimate Edition retail game and downloaded it. If you used one supplied with the beta versions it won't work. You should be able to contact Matrix Games if you've misplaced it, and if you can ...

RE: JASSM AGM 158 ER wont fire

<r> If I'm looking at this correctly, it looks like the loadout is listed in the loadouts DB but there is no accompanying AGM-158 entry in the weapons DB. Since Darren's passing, <E>:(</E> , perhaps no one is maintaining the HUD? Can't edit it with the H3 DB editor, and the Reimer editor doesn't ...

RE: JASSM AGM 158 ER wont fire

Does anyone know if this issue is fixed? In HUD 3 when you attempt an attack with this missile, the attack dialog says "Weapon cannot acquire target".
Thanks,

Final Countdown Scenario

<t> My grandson is a THIRD GENERATION Harpoon gamer (cool, huh?). We watched the move Final Countdown the other night, and he challenged me to model the attack scenario that nearly took place in the movie, in H3. So game on.<br/>
Since there is a decent WW2 DB made for ANW (H3 v. 7.1), I figure the ...

WWII Database?

<t> A number of years ago, someone started work on a WWII database, but it was eventually discarded, I think because they couldn't model the old torpedoes. I'd like to take a look at the ships in that database, for an idea that I'd like to work on. Anyone out there who might still have it hanging ...

Game w/ Final Countdown Scenario

<t> I am trying to recall the name of an old DOS Pacific War game that had a scenario of the situation that appears in the movie "Final Countdown", where the 1941 Japanese fleet that attacked Pearl Harbor is discovered and attacked by a modern Nimitz battle group. (Yeah I know it didn't happen in ...

RE: Full Screen?

<t> I don't think it does, but you can increase the window size to nearly full screen by selecting H3 configuration from the initial menu, then choose the Video/Sound Options tab. There, you can select the highest resolution (1280x1024), or use the sliders for a custom size. If you remove the check ...

RE: What does APPLY DEFAULT WINDOW SCHEME means?

<t> Set up your in-game windows as you like them (for example, I locate my message box on the far right of the game window, and make it real long). Then from the text menu up top, select the 'Windows' drop-down menu. Select 'Windows Scheme' and save your new set-up. You can either name it 'default ...

H3ANW-UE UGM TLAM Problem

<r> Hi guys--This one's kinda comical. Working in Ultimate ver. 3.10.1.0 all upgraded on an Alienware Intel i7 with 12 GB RAM, Windows 7x64, playing Okinawa using the Standard DB. I knocked out the airfield using surface-launched TLAMs and wanted to knock out the remaining SAM site on red base ...

You need to go to the launcher, click on 'check for updates', and update the game. It will require you to re-enter that serial number you got when you purchased the game.

H3 UE Vikings-Unusual behavior

<t> I'm on an Alienware machine with 32GB RAM, Intel i7, Win 7 64-bit. In two scens--Battle of the Bay of Bengal and Midway Revisited, I've noticed unusual behvior in Vikings with torp load-outs. If you unassign them from one ASW mission and then manually assign them to another target, the unit path ...

RE: USNI # 5 ' Retreat '

<t> Interesting comment about the subs. I've noticed that in H3 UE, the subs seem much stealthier also. In the Indian Ocean scenario, I took out nearly the entire Kusnetzov carrier group with one LA class sub. Before, if they even sniffed you at 15 miles you'd get a torp-carrying missile and it's ...

RE: running Harpoon with windows 7

<t> Your game and all the H3 games run fine in Win7x64, at least on my machine (Alienware, Intel i7 processor). You may find that running in full-screen mode completely doinks your saved color pallette, I don't know if anyone has figured out why. You should be able to run it in windowed mode with no ...
