british surrender

Why is it that when I as France occupy all of Britain, it has no army at all, NM -950, and doesn't want to surrender for months. Britain has been in war with everybody but France managed to defeat it. How come that it surrenders to France last???

exciting vs. boring nations

Hi All,

Which nation do you think is the most exciting to play?

And which is the most boring?

There could be a poll on these questions.

trade routes

Hi,

It must be my mistake, but I can't find the answer to my question in the manual. How can you change the trade route? I remember reading about it but I can't find it. So annoying[:@]

Thanks.

RE: food shortage again

Thank you Morgan. I think you are right I wasn't paying enough attention to food consumption. I guess it is now my primary issue in every game.

And thank you Mus, too.

RE: food shortage again

<t> Unfortunately I've finished that game and started a new one, but I believe you, because that sounds logical. But my problem is not that. <br/>
If I have food production enough with lets say 180 population and I have 220 obviously 40 will starve. But when I get down to 80 why are they still ...

RE: food shortage again

<t> Hi Mus,<br/>
<br/>
It is certainly logical what you are saying. Still it is a bit weird that I have France and its population (190) with enough food. Then I got Poland and extra 30 population and we are starving. How come? Poland was starving before? And if Poland starving why am I losing ...

RE: food shortage again

<t> Thank you Marshal. <br/>
<br/>
Actually I played on the game mentioned above and my manpower went down two 1 (one) !!!! My army was reduced to stg like 60K (previously it was about 400-500K. According to the country details Austria didn't have money in the last 15 turns and the statistics said ...

food shortage again

<t> Can someone please explain this:<br/>
<br/>
I am with France and had a population around 190. I caused a coup in Poland and my population went up 220 but for some reason suddenly I had food shortage. 8 turns later my population was under 120!!!<br/>
My tax rate is on 9, NM went down -100 from ...

RE: surrender

<t> Some other things should be taken into consideration.<br/>
<br/>
1. For instance, I didn't beat the navy since France had a much superior navy force (I was Austria). I didn't even challenge ner navy. Also, surrender resulted after I'd decided to occupy the main ports and had started to advance ...

RE: surrender

<t> Thank you Mus for your reply. Reading the previous threads I thought that there were several other factors that would predict surrender. The funny thing was that I was running after empty containers, army and corps containers occasionally holding no more than 2-3000 soldiers. I can't really make ...

RE: surrender

<t> Yes, I had a diplomats there. So the war went on another 3 years, I had to occupy about half of France, plunder everything I could, and then finally France surrendered. Unbelievable. <br/>
<br/>
And now, after about 3 years of her surrender, France has an army of roughly 400.000 on my border ...

surrender

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Question: What should I do to force a nation (in my case France) to surrender?<br/>
<br/>
The situation: France has no income (well, at least I can't see any money on her account), hardly any army, has -300 NM, 1/3 of the country is occupied by my forces including a 50000 army ...

alliance, surrender, limited surrender, war

<t> I am playing a long scenario with Austria. It started really well, I was allied with Prussia against France and had good relation with Russia and Britain (both +500). Britain refused alliance - why??? Two turns later Russia declared war on me along with Turkey. Next turn, Britain declared war ...

RE: food shortage

<t> Thank you Maestro, I think these are very useful pieces of advice. <br/>
<br/>
Although I tried to eliminate excess manpower by starving out the nation, but it didn't work for me. More than half the population died, I lost two wars, and my army got very small by the end. And still had food ...

RE: Impressions of this game

<t> In the Napoleonic Wars there were coalitions fighting against Napoleon. I can't really make any coalition here although I have several allies. Whatever I do they just sit patiently. One of the amazing things about this era was that it needed the whole Europe to defeat Napoleon at Leipzig, and I ...

Let's insist on a neutral date like e.g. 22nd January.

Ooooooops, that's my birthday. What a coincidence! [:D][:D][:D]
