New Windows 7 Install and CS will not launch

<t> Ah, this is frustrating. I got 2.0, installed and it ran smooth as silk. A Great Day. Then my computer crashed, I had to reformat, reintall the operating system and 13,000 updates from Microsoft. I reinstalled CS, original, the first patch, then 2.0. I clock on the icon, get the first screen ...

RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread

Yeah, Mike. I actually read the little box where it said what file formats were acceptable and saw that .zip was okay. My wife complains I only read directions as a last resort. Thanks!

RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread

Thanks Mike.

What I was trying to send was a platoon file, to have it encrypted. Any idea where I messed that one up?

RE: Patch 2.00 Thank You Thread

Jason,

A thousand pardons...what is the correct procedure for sending the files? I just tried to attach one to an email and it gave me a message about a fake path...?
Thanks.

Don't know if you remember me...I contributed some artwork eons ago. My hat is off to you and the team. This update is a dream come true. I can hardly imagine a better job could have been done. This was worth the wait. Oh, and thanks for the non-encryption mode. It was very ...

RE: Equipment Editing, and Windows 7

Oberst Klink,

Thanks. I will download it and give it a shot.

Lizard and Shazman,

My gratitude. Looks like I will need to join Gamesquad to get the download, but I am sure it is well worth it.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Curtis, Got the files but cannot get them to go. I suspect I am missing something very obvious, but your courtesy is very much appreciated.

Equipment Editing, and Windows 7

I have recently purchased TOAW III and downloaded the 3.4 update. I am having trouble finding Bio-Ed and the support files. I found an old link but the xml stuff set off warning bells on my system. I am running Windows 7.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'd very much like to know more about your Central America project, when you are comfortable releasing details. The wars down there in the 1970s-80s are a particular interest of mine.<br/>

<t> To the Art Critics of the CS Boards,<br/>

You are quite right. Any attempts to improve this game by offering enhanced values, rules sets, graphics is a heresy. All along you have shown us the way: "Give me what I want and to hell with everyone else." Too right. I mean, the temerity of ...

I've been away a long while and am trying to find an old counters mod. Wonder if anyone can point the way - a camouflage counter mod. Ring any bells?

Gracias.

RE: Music mods

<t> I have added new music to my Sandinista mod (addtional tracks) by editing the sound.dat file, just as you would adding new weapons or movement sounds. Don't know what the upper limit is and you have to dope out which line to edit by counting sound files of a type, which is a problem if there are ...

I too am very much in favor of being able to mod with UPSing files (just a joke, people), but I would urge those who argue on behalf of this ideal to remember a few little suggestions. In our arguments, let us conduct ourselves as officers and gentlemen and ...

Would you like us to attach a brief note or otherwise communicate to you what exactly we are doing to the platoon/weapons files that makes encryption necessary? I for one would happily do this. You know my concerns on this issue as it pertains to modding and have stepped up ...

Jason,

If you put a little green saddle blanket on your sheep it will make it harder to see. Green spray paint would also work.

P.S. Is that the little known prototype of the Panzerkampfshcaf IIB "Das Boo Peepum"?

I'm sure this is already posted somewhere, but I can't find the bleeder. I need a list of the movement/weapon sound files. I have created a bunch of new sounds for my Nicaraguan Civil War mod (don't all yawn at once...) including some fantastic recordings of FAL assault ...
