Will the ? in the order part randomize when they show up? I don't mind naming them all, but don't want them all showing up in the early stages and then reverting back to generic portrait people in the end.

Ah cool! That seems to have solved it, reason I couldn't find it is because the race txt file changed with universe but the race file was made with previous version. In the file 0 = none but universe -1 = none.

Suggested the same thing, only handled in a different manner. It's definitely something that is missing and should be in the game. Making your own characters is a nice feature but there's no way to have them appear randomly with random skills and traits so it takes away from half the fun.

Cool! Thanks, going to check that out and see. Considering I'm starting my Empire as a prewarp one, this is a HUGE boost to my strength because it's probably armed and I can tell it's got shields.

Rough. My suggestion would be in a future patch an option can be added to send the character off for testing. Costing a good sum of money and removing the character for several months.
