RE: The 1.03 UPDATE

<t> Hi Jason:<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Long time since I looked at the forums...nice coincidence that I looked as an update was announced. Since I am not much of a "computer guy" I went to the Update section of the menu to download the new version but got an error stating I had the most recent version (I ...

RE: Line of Departure: Tarawa; scenario

<t> Hi Mathew...Yes, it turned out to be an entertaining scenario when all was said and done. I'm not sure the Marines in the reral thing would have said the same! The left side of the island was also my problem...ended up with a major victory any way, but left those Objective Points there...I guess ...

RE: Line of Departure: Tarawa; scenario

<t> Yeah...I know the feeling. Looking at the screenshot, it's a mirror image of where I first landed as well.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Mathew; you are 100% correct in your assessment of landing in shallows...worked much better for me as well in&nbsp;my "Third time is a charm" attempt (that included ...

RE: Line of Departure: Tarawa; scenario

<t> Wow! all I can say is "How about those interlocking fields of fire?" I managed to to secure a tenuous beachhead by the end of turn 6 right in the middle of the island by the seawall...the Japanese defenders in their hardened positions proved very difficult to dislodge even when my asaults were ...

RE: Line of Departure: Tarawa; scenario

<t> Thanks very much for the input...As an amateur historian, I did recall the landing was particularly brutal in reality. This game just validated that! I had already attempted turn three using pretty much the strategy you described...alternating blasting hardened positions with 6 and 5 inch naval ...

Line of Departure: Tarawa; scenario

<t> This is an open request to anyone who has played (and won or lost) this scenario...<br/>
<br/>
I have tried to land on Betio (Tarawa) twice now and been absolutely mauled both times by direct and indirect fire form the dug in Axis AI...so badly in fact that by turn six, I've conceded defeat ...

RE: Rising Sun Issues

Hi Jason:
&nbsp;
Quick FYI...all is well with the new maps. No lock ups...(I guess the caves ARE the issue). Looking forward to a permanent fix that will keep the integrity of the original scenarios intact. Until then, many thanks!

RE: Rising Sun Issues

Thanks for all your help Jason...I'll let you know if this resolved the "lock-up" issue or, if not, then there may be an entirely different situation for you all to deal with.
&nbsp;
I appreciate all of your assistance!

RE: Rising Sun Issues

<t> That would be great as a temporary fix...Thanks Jason. Obviously, the best case would be to resolve the "problem" and retain the caves as they do add an element of surprise to the game that neither WF or EF have. I find myself keping a HMG or 50 cal in a captured cave in case of infiltration ...

RE: Rising Sun Issues

<t> This is the latest Rising Sun scenario to give me trouble. The previous one that just locked up, seemingly for no reason, was "On Hallowed Soil". That would just freeze up around Axis AI controlled&nbsp;turn three or four. I had written in about this previous issue as well and was told by many ...

<t> Jason:<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Thanks for the suggestions and your timely help. Unfortunately...NOTHING is working and&nbsp;it's very very frustrating. I have wasted parts of the last three days now trying to get this thing to work...and it just doesn't. I feel like I need to say this now (and maybe ...

RE: Rising Sun Issues

<t> Thanks, as always, for the quick response. Do I have to delete the entire game before I re-install? If I overwrite the exisiting game, will it delete the game in progress? I have v 1.02 installed and looked at the temporary patch and what issues it adresses, doesn't seem to me like it will ...

RE: What You Will Get with John Tiller's Campaign Series

<t> Can you tell me in what scenarios or campaigns I can find some of these new uits? Especially would like to see the trains, scout planes and ships in action.<br/>
Also, you mention all of these as well...please, I really don't want to digthrough all the gaes to find them...<br/>

Rising Sun Issues

<t> Hi Guys:<br/>
<br/>
Any "new" news on when you will have a fix for Rising Sun? I am desperately trying to play "The Main Event" scenario and the game keeps crashing (indiscriminately) and I have wound up having to re-do entire turns...I have been doing this now for two days. Any idea why? It's ...

RE: Possible bug in rising Sun?

<t> Whoops...just realized I incorrectly called the scenario with which I was having trouble as "On Sacred Soil". The actual name is "On Hallowed Soil", it is the Kushikono, Kyushu Island scenario. Playing as the Japanese AI, in turn 3 during troop movements, just completely freezes up. <br/>

RE: Possible bug in rising Sun?

<t> Hmmm...while I absolutely appreciate the feedback and suggestion on how to fix...I am truly NOT a "computer&nbsp; guy"...the last thing in the world I want to start doing is messing with the scenarios, and potentially ruining the game. Let's hope this becomes a 1.03 patch?<br/>

RE: Possible bug in rising Sun?

Just had a similar problem with the first Home Island scenario..."On Sacred Soil"...in Japanese turn 3, I was playing the Allies vs. the Axis AI, the scenario completely freezes up and I have to exit the game...no error message, nada, just a deep, deep, freeze.
