RE: Status?

<t> Mike, you are a good sport. I fear I have become a disillusioned troll on this forum. I gave up on this game back in 2008 because of Mark Walker’s continued lying about how close the game was to being released. At the time, someone recommended HPS/JTS’ Squad Battles to me as an alternative and I ...

<t> Richie61, I love your enthusiasm! <br/>

My post was intended as tough love, rather than meant as negativity towards the forum members. For over six years, LnL and Matrix have been intentionally misleading people into thinking this game’s release wasn’t far off. If you browse through this ...

RE: Game Suggestions:

<t> Add an "auto quick-save" feature. Essentially, the functionality I'm looking for is a way to have my turn automatically saved in the background every XX minutes (say every 15 or 30 minutes) or even just have a prompt asking me if I'd like to do a quick save at that time. It is extremely ...

RE: John Tiller Civil War

<t> If you haven't played any titles that use John Tiller's general gaming system, then you will likely need to read the manual from cover to cover. Once you have played one of his games, many of the functions tend to carry over and then it is the ideosyncrasies that you need to learn. However the ...

RE: PC version?

<r> It is unfortunate that Matrix and Lock 'n Load are bungling the PR of this project as badly as they are. Lock 'n Load locked out their forum once again to non-members and isn't allowing any new subscribers (another wonderful PR move!), so I cannot trace when this game was first announced and ...

RE: When will this game be released?

I had been holding my breath, hoping for an HoS demo to be released at Origins. However, it looks like the next big date on the horizon is the GenCon conference scheduled for August 14-17. Any hints, rumors, or otherwise to further whet our appetites? [:)]

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! Sounds like I'll have to give HPS' Squad Battles: Advance of the Reich a try while I join the queue for HOS.

Much appreciated,

Recommendations for a PC version of Squad Leader?

<t> I have been long-awaiting a PC version of Squad Leader. I have an old buddy of mine against whom I used to play Squad Leader a lot and we’d like to resume that via email. We looked into playing Squad Leader with the VASSAL engine, but we would prefer to have a game engine handle the rules and ...

RE: WaW:AWD vs WaW (Original Edition)

<t> I will offer up a slightly different perspective. I have purchased both WaW and AWD and I am still playing WaW as opposed to AWD for two reasons: 1.) my friends are still trying to learn WaW and aren't ready to tackle AWD, and 2.) I wasn't enticed by some of the additional rules such as spying ...

Capping the total number of op fires would certainly help the problem WanderingHead had presented. Taking that a little further, I was wondering if there ...
