Re: Transferring air units

The rightclick you have to do on the "dogtag" with the "arrow" (left side).
Then you also can use the AG's "sidebar-card".

Oh, dear god... that works. Thank you! The videos I've watched are all several years old, so I'm guessing things have changed since they were recorded

Re: Transferring air units... New Question

Why is it that I cannot get the "Transfer Immediately" popup/

It's Turn 1 of the 41 Campaign. I am trying to move fighters and recon closer to the front.

Moving 32.(F)?AufklarGr 31 from Inowroclaw to Ortelsburg:

A. Left Click & Drag does nothing.

B. Select (Left Click), then Right Click brings ...

Installing Steel Inferno

So, I just purchased & DL'd SI. But, as it has not been updated to the latest patch, it won't be installed until I back out, or uninstall WitE 2.

Really? How hard is it to update games to the latest patch for new buyers?

Try the dropbox links posted by Edorf.

AFAIK these mods are for WitE and Steel Inferno is a DLC for WitE 2.
Thank you kindly, good sir!

Jison's MapMod

Posting this here as I think it will catch more eyes than the Mod board...

I've read the posts, clicked the links and scoured Google, but I cannot find an active download link for Jison's MapMod. I've played Panzer Campaigns for years and have most of the games. The very first thing I do when ...

Re: Forego Barbarossa?

Yeah, my biggest worry would have been the time and forces it would take away from a proper Barbarossa. And, I don't believe I would even consider this against a decent player.

Thanks for the reply!

Forego Barbarossa?

I just downloaded the game onto a new computer. It's been quite a while since I've played (several years, maybe 5), so I'm quite sure I'm going to be rusty.

While returning home from a trip today, I listened to a podcast about Germany foregoing Barbarossa. Instead, the narrators posited the idea of ...

Re: All Manassas scenarios crash on start

Yes, it's no longer supported, but Matrix/Slithers has no problem selling it for $50 a pop.

It's weird; I have the game on my desktop and my laptop. Both are Win11, fully updated, etc., etc. Everything appears to be exactly the same, but it will run all scenarios on my laptop, but not on the ...

Re: All Manassas scenarios crash on start

Late to the party as usual... same issue here.

Just started looking at this again for the first time in years. Open any Manassass scenario and game goes to scenario description, but no map background... then the game CTD's with no error message.

W'msburg, and the western battles all run fine ...

Re: Not sure if this is a bug, noticed that IFVs relucted to use ATGM to engage other IFVs

I've been away from the game for several months (I just looked back at a save game... the date was a week before Christmas). On seeing the newest update available, I've installed it and am ready to give the game another go.

My reason for leaving was, I presume, related to this issue. I was playing ...

Re: Minor Rivers & Streams

Because of the new generalized waterway system -- at the heart of which is entirely new code, not just new data files, layouts, etc. -- as of yet we don't have riverbank effects, and the waterways don't sit quite well in a natural setting. With riverbank effects, the waterway intersections would ...

A problem with redoing the Minor Rivers and Streams in that pencil thin fashion is they will not merge well with the Minor River Joins and Stream Joins to the in-hex (not hexside) Rivers, Canals, etc. Unless your aim is to redo everything water (etc.) related.
Yes, Berto, you're correct ...

I thought so too! Now, I'm trying to edit the ones that don't match so that they line up correctly.

This is slow, painful work... down at the individual pixel level :D

Re: Minor Rivers & Streams

I'm getting over the worst case of the flu that I've had in nearly 50 years (oddly enough, I contracted that case in Navy boot camp several days after getting a flu shot). Anyhow, I've had too much time to think about this...

I didn't recall seeing this issue in Middle East, probably because much ...

Re: Minor Rivers & Streams

BTW, and perhaps it was a mistake: The original 3D map graphics were sharper, brighter, with more saturated colors. The step was taken to dull and desaturate and blur in order to

Demote the map graphics, promote the unit graphics, so that the units would be the eye-catching stars of the show ...

Re: Minor Rivers & Streams

Thanks Berto!
It's the map from the Tutorials. Believe me, I do understand how difficult these are to place - I've modded these files in JTCS and in the similar Panzer Campaign games... one pixel off and I've got a mess.

Here's my 1st picture with Hex Coordinates added - this is with Elevation ...

Minor Rivers & Streams

I'm wondering if there's a template (of sorts) for the layout of the minor rivers and streams bmp's.

I started working on adjusting their locations to fix the mismatch shown in the circled areas below:

I've identified, selected and moved these sections, but one ...

Once I'm at the point where I think they're ready, I will most certainly do that. Right now, most of the changes are not.

You'll see a bit of one of the changes in the pic in my next post... just some changes to the contrast in the villages. The palm trees still have a bit of neon green along the ...

Re: Terrain Modding Question

All the graphics you need to edit are in the GRAPHICS - MAPS - 3D folder.

You'll want to do a search for *trees*.bmp and edit them all accordingly.

Okay, maybe I just hadn't given the trees in the *trees 0D *bmp's enough of a boost to make it noticeable in game. I searched just as you ...
