Appeal of this Game

<t> Hi folks. I have watched this last year develop from a single player only to a PBEM game. Didn't get involved then because was in the middle of a move. I noticed the new title released this Summer recently downloaded it and thought it was interesting. I am a little concerned though, small ...

RE: Are you really happy with this game ?

<t> As far as historical, this game is most accurate I've played in awhile. As far as TMI, that may be what you are griping over. <br/>
<br/>
The Union and CSA know when their Generals will arrive, they know where they must focus and where they will probably not need much firepower. <br/>

RE: 1.030 Patch in the works

<t> I think the point here of focusing Lee in the East or a slight risk of losing him in battle is to allow the Union a more historical feel. <br/>
<br/>
If you put Lee way out West in the Swamps of the MI and he dies well then you will likely lose earlier. Your gambling, a little<br/>

RE: General an AC or TC ?

initiative percentage chance may be higher with General Lee as a TC Spruce, but he has AC combat modifiers that matter too much while a TC doesn't use these same modifiers they do not actually fight

RE: CSCs

<t> Doc, I think that pre Civil War you only had the Mexican American War for reference and experience so this hurt discovering good Generals. Plus a split in the Officer corp some being from the South and some form the North. There you go, a difficult situation altogether. Why the Yanks couldn't ...

RE: Northern population management

<t> I have seen a couple of players up around 300 or so Infantry very quickly for the Union. The Draft may cost, but it is definitely worth it if you can take several key pieces of real estate<br/>
<br/>
I think the key is doing it early, as Erik mentions, so that the #s force the CSA on the ...

Although, say for instance I get&nbsp; 4 subs for LongStreet, approximately. a 1/1/2, a 2/2/2, 3/3/2.....you're saying the Infantry modifier is all that matters? Their Rank counts despite their alphabetization? In which order who'll ...

CSCs

<t> I have found this subject to be little covered in the manual or on-line here on the boards.<br/>
<br/>
Generally you get a great deal of lower end Generals with low command ratings, the deal here is that it can clutter your choices......Can some people give me an idea of a good command ...

RE: how do I win battles ?

<r> First off, Grant is good. With 80,000 men vs your little rabble what do you expect? That's close to 2 to 1 odds... What you want to win an offensive battle...Historically the South lost roughly in that region and you should too. Now as far as delaying it a little longer or evening the odds you ...

Common sense will break down this game for you. Depending on the rules you have set, I would play the AI about 3 or 4 Xs....that or 1 thorough game on easy setting to just study the interface. <br/>
Basically the break down of this game is like this:<br ...

RE: An improvement I think needs to be made to 1861 scenario

<t> I think the fact the Union outweighs the South so heavily in so many ways so early, makes things tough, give leaders to an adept Yank and you may be facing a juggernaut that rips through the south much earlier than historical also! So how would you fix it, what if like in some other war games I ...

No point to the game without a bad guy <E>:)</E> Well, that's relative. Germany may or may not have been the bad guy in WW1, but we still need that for a good historical wargame. <br/>
