Re: Corps or Division suport units?

I know support units like art can help units in battle but other than that is there a reason to keep combat support.units like artillery at the corps or army levels and not directly attached to a division? Flexibility. Those SUs can be moved around and included more than once during battles involvi...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Another basic question... but how does the player actually perform a strategic recon? The manual mentions that : Air Recon – Used to increase the detection level of enemy ground units in the target area. Recon missions can be designated as Tactical or Strategic. Strategic recon will gather informati...

As SUs they can teleport thousands of kilometers.
You mean when assigned to STAVKA?

Re: Soviet brigades for newbs

Rifle brigades can appear anywhere instantly, provide offensive or defensive CV and help you win important fights. Then when they become low ToE, you just change their HQ to Stavka, and they refit to full there in a single turn (provided Stavka is in Moscow). Tank brigades die almost instantly (unl...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

2 unrelated questions: 1. Let's say I want to deploy Soviet divisions to the North and the South regions in the same turn, can I switch the TB Reserve Hex Box between each separate deployment to do so? Or will all the divisions land on the latest hex selected as TB Reserve Box, regardless in what or...

Soviet brigades for newbs

I made it, I survived the Axis 41 onslaught and going through my first winter as the Soviets against the Axis AI. I am alive and well, with the Germans stopped in front of the big three objectives with an earlier winter hitting on end of November 1941. My counterattacks have allowed me to retake Ore...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

It is kinda confirmed that there is naval combat in the new game, so I think middle east is ruled out. In the witp forums they say its Witp2 but i think that is hopium. Maybe new game is focused in naval-air combat in the ETO...to be joined with wite2 somehow? Pleeease Joel. If you cannot say anyth...

Advice and tips - reserve status

Reaching the middle of October in my first GC41 campaign against the Axis AI - and the heavy mud has finally started to arrive. I can finally begin to breath a sigh of relief. Now that my troops are getting stronger and more buffed as the equipment gets updated and refitted, what advice would you gi...

Re: Where's the Axis AI Luftwaffe?

Remember that there is the option of playing the smaller scenarios against a human. They are much more manageable both in terms of size, length and in terms of time commitment. Or try playing as Axis - that gives you the opportunity to kick some butt at the beginning of the campaign!!! The issue is...

Re: Where's the Axis AI Luftwaffe?

To return to the O/P - the AI leaves a little to be desired, especially in terms of it playing the Axis in 41. One issue, which I think is what you are seeing, is the AI is very reluctant to move its planes forwards into marginal supply situations. So it will wait a long time for the logistics to c...

Where's the Axis AI Luftwaffe?

Playing the GC41 campaign as the Soviets and learning how to wage the Air war manually, I am very surprised - and disappointed - to find the skies totally uncontested by the Axis AI. I am now in the middle of August 1941. I perform thousands of sorties to interdict and batter the Axis panzers, but t...

Thanks!

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Being entrained and being temporarily motorized are different things. Temp motorization is the only thing I can think of that uses up APs automatically at the start of a turn, but I may be forgetting something. Do deploying units from the National Reserve either to the MAP or TBs cost APs? The only...

Negative. Just started my Ground Turn and the only units that are not on foot are those I left on trains because I could not get them off in a Railway 2 hex last turn.

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Not sure if you want the order for OCD sake or for actually "priority" sake. If it is OCD, you have to redo them. If it is priority, you can set the priority in each AD separately. How I understand it the ADs with highest priority go first, those with vlow go last (Priority: vHigh, High ....

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Trying yet again to tame this game as the Soviets, this time against the AI. When manually setting Air directives, is there a way to move the order of each Air Directive up and down in the confirmed list in the upper-right corner of the UI? Or do I have to erase them, then redo them each in the orde...

Re: Need clarification of rule 15.5.2 on Leader checks

Thanks!

Currently reading the manual to return to WITE2 I have a urge to play. I want to try the GC but it's all so intimidating that it makes me hesitate to launch a game, even against the AI. My work schedule stops me from playing multi, so singleplayer is all I can do.
