Scenarios

I was looking back and discovered my old scenarios for ACW.
Here are a host of short scenarios including my old Trans Mississippi 61-62 and the red river campaign. Also my original 1862 east and west scenarios.

Re: What music are you listening to now?

Reading the previous posts, this is turning into a tribute thread.
Maybe make a separate thread for the gone but not forgotten?

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

Reduced the size of suburbs and cities. It makes it a little easier to see walls, hedges and streams in 3D mode.

Weird Graphics

I noticed a problem with the 3D zoomed in [1] night graphics for major rivers. All other 3D zoom levels are fine.
It looks like the hex edges are somehow included.
It's more noticeable with my mod but it does show in the new Mausman graphics as well.

Re: 4k Scaling Issues in Betas

Confirmed. I'm on a 100" screen with a 4K projector. Just installed the new beta 2.0 on it (3840x2160).
Fonts are way to small. I'm on 300%. Not sure what's changed. .Net version?
I've tried compatibility mode to no effect. I will not try swapping font sizes just for the game. The 1.31 version ...

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

All kidding aside. I only want to know if it's tree's or jungle terrain on the map. I'm not sure what else matters.

The regions and biomes system if of particular interest for the 3D map images, where there are distinguishable differences on graphics from region to another, and between biomes ...

I enjoy the diversity.

But I'm heavily biased, as I'm keenly interested in geography and cartography.

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

Southeast asia isn't all jungle terrain, surprisingly enough. There's quite a bit of diversity, which is especially important for scenarios that will be in Korea, Laos and Cambodia.

Even Vietnam has different tree type cover, some temperate, some very jungle-esque.

Personally I'm not sure if ...

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

Version 1.5 posted. This is for the 2.0 Beta.

These are my thoughts on this beta and the graphics in general (purely my own). I'm not sure why we have to have multiple files (many, many files) to achieve the same result.
I'm sure you could have streamlined the graphics files. Do we really have to ...

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

Yes, but why not just retexture one file and name it "Rivers". You would then have streams, minor rivers and river hexes.
In my mod, I've made the major rivers full hexes and this seems to work well other than draw order in some scenarios.
I think this would make for a cleaner look.

Re: 2D/3D Map mod

My 2 cents on this but I've been trying to line up and match the 3D river hexes to the streams and minor rivers.
This has been near impossible to do. I am NOT a big fan of the isometric rivers in this title.
I've figured out the 3D streams and minor rivers (from Rising Sun). Why the "rivers" couldn ...

Windows 11 and 4K

As far as I can see, all you need is this.
download the vcredist_x86.exe version.

Edit: Run in Win 8 compatibility mode. It's probably helpful to run as admin but I don't think it's required.
