Re: Reverse slopes?

Cheers, let me know how it plays out! Some of these file templates have been here there and everywhere, it is always helpful if existing structures could be modified instead of adding new ones.

Unfortunately it didn't work. I think there is only so much room in the grid pattern. I did see it but ...

Re: Reverse slopes?

Just to understand this correctly, wouldn’t it be possible to mod the existing 3D Slope and/or Crest graphics for this purpose?

Interesting idea. I'll check it out.
I just thought it might be easier to add the straight slope/crest graphic to the 3Dslopes files. It looked like there was room for ...

Re: Reverse slopes?

Hello, Jason pointed me to this thread. I am not sure I understand the request. Are you looking for a new side entry in a Reverse Slope? Would it have a Combat modifier, and how would it differ from Crest side, for instace? Or is this just for visuals, ie. a graphics mod.

Sorry, I don't own the ...

Is there an undo? lol
Wish there was.
Getting back on topic though.......
I believe you share the same graphics and code as WDS {John Tiller). I think if you could add the code for the reverse slope it will be game changing as far as 3D graphics.

Yes. I'm not sure why this thread isn't showing up in the main.
I see it when logged in but when I'm not logged in I don't see it.

Re: Reverse slopes?

OK!

Just checking, some don't, so offering some help.

If you make a set, I can see about adding it as a MOD.

Cheers.
I'm at V1.5 for my Vietnam mod now.
I 'd like to be able to redo everything though. Start with one base graphic. One base terrain.
It would save a a lot of time with changes ...

Re: Reverse slopes?

That's what they used to look like, back in the day.

You can still modify for the slope files, if you wish. They are all just BMP's.

Here is a video to show you how to make a quick mod using some of the old terrain, but also works for making your own graphics.

Jason Petho wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2026 6:05 am Don't forget, you can also flip the map perspective.

ALT + F and it will flip the map.

That's right. But you will still see a blank reverse slope graphic from the other side..

Reverse slopes?

Just throwing this out there but have you considered using 3D slopes similar to the new WDS games graphics for the Musket and Pike series?

Re: Campaign Series Cold War

Since December I’ve been working on the graphics engine, dissecting the legacy DirectDraw framework and replacing it with a modern DirectX-based one. Progress has been slow: the Map Editor is mostly done, but I’ve only just begun work on the Scenario Editor, with the game engine still waiting to ...

Scenarios

I was looking back and discovered my old scenarios for ACW.
Here are a host of short scenarios including my old Trans Mississippi 61-62 and the red river campaign. Also my original 1862 east and west scenarios.

Reading the previous posts, this is turning into a tribute thread.
Maybe make a separate thread for the gone but not forgotten?

Reduced the size of suburbs and cities. It makes it a little easier to see walls, hedges and streams in 3D mode.

Weird Graphics

I noticed a problem with the 3D zoomed in [1] night graphics for major rivers. All other 3D zoom levels are fine.
It looks like the hex edges are somehow included.
It's more noticeable with my mod but it does show in the new Mausman graphics as well.

Re: 4k Scaling Issues in Betas

Confirmed. I'm on a 100" screen with a 4K projector. Just installed the new beta 2.0 on it (3840x2160).
Fonts are way to small. I'm on 300%. Not sure what's changed. .Net version?
I've tried compatibility mode to no effect. I will not try swapping font sizes just for the game. The 1.31 version ...
