RE: noob questions re: interface and unit composition

<t> And select the HQ that will receive production and press F5 to make sure your factories and cities are within range (e.g. are green).<br/>
<br/>
Also make sure that the units under the HQ are within 100 APs (e.g. are green).<br/>
<br/>
And check the little boxes on the units to make sure ...

RE: noob questions re: interface and unit composition

<t> 1. It's interesting, but I've never felt the need for this in this game, while I use the "next unit" key all the time in other games. Units are greyed out when they can no longer move.<br/>
<br/>
2. It's actually pretty quick to create new unit. I almost always create new units in the same hex ...

RE: Guerrillas and Cavalry

<t> I'm all for a varied force and more units being useful, such as halftracks, but I still think Cavalry have too much offensive power, especially in rough terrain.<br/>
<br/>
I'm also for a fluid game of movement, but I just don't see the point of Cavalry having such a large offensive punch ...

If we tried to change everyting to make it "more realisitc", we would sacrifice much of what is enjoyable about the game.<br/>
I still think that the only real change that needs to be made, is to make guerrillas available to all factions.<br ...

RE: Guerrillas

<t> But where were Cavalry used as combat units in WWI and WWII?<br/>
<br/>
I might be missing something, but wasn't the war fought with infantry (mostly), artillery, tanks and airpower on land?<br/>
<br/>
I don't recall large cavalry armies leading the charge (litteraly, I guess) into France in ...

RE: Guerrillas

<t> Well, I'm all for many units having utility, but Cav is used so much now that it makes the game seem odd. It's strange to see these massive cavalry armies all over the map. It's almost like they should need their own resource, there are so many of them, but the whole thing just seems a bit silly ...

RE: 3v3[In progress...]

Yeah, using the map editor to add the necessary roads to link up the cutoff areas is the way to go.

I've never used the editor, so I never thought of it, but definately the way to go going forward.

RE: 3v3[In progress...]

<t> I generated about 10 maps before this one. All the rest were even worse and I guess I just got tired of generating the maps.<br/>
<br/>
But yeah, the cutoff portions suck and it would be better not to have them. It's pretty much a guaranteed loss of cities and resources. Production from a few ...

<t> A very minor thing, but we're still on turn 3 but the turn number in the name of the file in dropbox was saying 4.<br/>
<br/>
So, I renamed jwamds-004-toCarlVon.at2 to jwamds-003-toCarlVon.at2 (current turn) and jwamds-004-to-M.at2 to jwamds-003-to-M.at2 (in the old turns folder).<br/>

RE: Stacking Documentation?

<t> You can stack as many troops as you like in a single hex.<br/>

But if you stack more than 100 stack points in a hex and are attacked, you'll suffer additional casualties.<br/>

When attacking, the number of stack points that you can use without incurring additional casualties is ...
