Re: Error when generating picture for starting ships

It starts on the first screen after starting a game.

The same error message comes on the first and every other attempt to press a button.

It occurred every time I tried to start the game.

Error when generating picture for starting ships

When I attempted to draw a picture of a staring ship, I get this error:

Access violation at address 0044F168 in module 'RTW3.exe'. Read of address 00000004.

Mouse pointer does not appear

Once the main menu comes up, my mouse pointer disappears. I can still roll over the buttons by clicking around the screen, but the pointer for the mouse is not visible. I have a Corsair Harpoon Mouse.

RE: Quick Questions Thread

If you reassign support units prior to movement on turn 1 of the 1941 campaign do they suffer the -1 for admin rolls during turn 1?

RE: US CV's and Torpedoes

In 42 the US torpedo bomber is the Devastator, a sitting duck for flack and fighters. Perhaps the game considers that as well as the problematic torpedoes.

RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:

Thanks for the info. So, is there a reason to assign any combat support units to the army group or army levels?

RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:

<t> It is "War in the East 2 - Let's Play! | Part 1" by Strategy Gaming Dojo. It was recommended in another thread "video tutorials" by Templar_12. About 7:15 into the video he starts to discuss support unit levels. He suggests you pull all the support units to OKH and then push them down before you ...

RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:

<t> Support Units<br/>
<br/>
In a video walk-through it is suggested that support units be concentrated at the highest level HQs rather than at division, corps, or army level. Is this a good idea? Section 23.6.1 states that support units can only be committed if the relevant HQ is five or less ...

RE: Very impressed

<t> I have played a monster table game of WWI, "Der Weltkrieg", and the designer had an interesting take on the effects of gas warfare. Even though by 1918 a third of the artillery shells were gas, it only had dramatic impact twice, at the first use of chlorine gas, and to a lesser extent, the first ...

RE: Desert War: Why Didn't You Buy?

I broke down and bought the game after all, and gotta say it is pretty darn good. Reminds me a bit of the GDW game Operation Crusader (1978).

RE: The D-Day Sale is here! 30% off on WWII games!

<t> My issue is slightly different. I want to buy Desert War 1940-42. It will allow me to put in the promo code and shows the discounted price. However, it will not process the transaction, either using PayPal or credit card. However, if I remove the promo code it will process the transaction, at ...

RE: Desert War: Why Didn't You Buy?

<t> Really like the North African theater, but there are couple issues that are keeping me from purchasing:<br/>
1. Lack of any sort of campaign. It does not have to be 40-43, but a series of linked battles where losses and experience carry over would do the trick.<br/>
2. Reviews of AI in the ...
