Re: Apply to Test Our New Unannounced Game from Gary Grigsby

Oh. I played a lot of the original carrier strike. (Unfortunately I don't have time atm to commit to playing a betatest. Maybe in a few months).

Re: Game freezes after clicking "Disband TF"

That should have been requested when this first came out. Now it may be too late.

I'm pretty sure there were multiple people complaining about need to confirm TF disband when the first beta patch dropped. And they were told the confirmation was a deliberate change that had been requested. The ...

Yeah, but the snipping tool has a time delay option, that would allow you to to schedule the image capture, then switch back to full screen.

Re: So, how do you guys feel about 1128B?

Weren't capital ships in ports normally surrounded by anti-torpedo netting? That would be another reason why torpedoes weren't normally used in port attacks.

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

I, for one, get tired of people complaining about it here. They should have contacted the development team earlier in the process when things could have been easily changed. If necessary, I will quit responding to people who constantly complain and see about blocking them so I won't have to read ...

OK so if this popup is annoying you think that we have to ask the developers to eliminate also these others popup

Re: EIA v1.26.04 Beta Available

As I write this, I'm thinking I should add a check to exclude any fleet in blockade if there are enemy troops at the port eligible for embarkation. Don't take an unnecessary risk, and move on to another fleet that needs reinforcement. Thanks!

If the number of troops isn't enough to be a threat ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #6 Available

Yeah I did hit the 30 corps/area limit, (and the garrison limit as well), but it is not like I needed all those corps following Napoleon around.

Regarding the each major power can only lose 3 home nation corps provinces, I have mixed feelings. Face to face it makes a lot of sense, since a player ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #6 Available

Yeah reading the rules I'm not sure I should have been allowed to take Karelia as part of a surrender, unless I already controlled every non-capital province.

When we played face to face we always played with the optional rule that limited major powers to never losing more than three home nation ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #6 Available

Thanks for the quick fix.

Regarding Russia not having surrendered yet, I only declared war that turn. My memory of playing face to face was that the turn order allowed someone to surrender the same turn as the declaration of war, but I'm pretty sure the Matrix version requires you to wait till the ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #6 Available

Thanks for the fixes Bill, but got another bug.

The Russian land AI appears to be in an infinite loop. (It is using 100% of one core for over 10 minutes, without making any progress. Attached is the French Naval autosave. (Just end the French Naval move, we are moving last on land).

Playing with ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #5 Available

Copy-paste from the in game rules manual

Poland (Grand Duchy of Warsaw)
Any Major Power may create Poland.

Poland Components

Russian, Austrian, and Prussian provinces marked on the map with a “(P)” are the available Polish components.

The following is required in order to create Poland: Masovia ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #5 Available

The time has come for the second Franco-British war, and the game won't let me declare war for some reason. Attached is the save. Have I missed something obvious?

Also note the bug where Prussia created Poland, and then I took Poland as part of a peace treaty, yet the game thinks I am still at war ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #5 Available

Don't forget that the start of this game took place back before May 20, before my initial post in this thread. That included everything before the May 1805 naval phase, including the first naval combat at Toulon. (But it didn't affect the subsequent blockades of Naples. There the issue was the AI ...

Re: EIA v1.26.03 Beta Hotfix #5 Available

Ok. Playing again, continuing the same game as before. On the latest Beta 1.26.03 Beta #5.

The British Naval AI has frittered away its naval reinforcements in the Med. It never sent enough to attempt to blockade Toulon. But it did try blockading Naples. Which resulted in a number of cheap French ...

Now the game consistently hangs whilst processing the Spanish AI land turn. Last autosave attached.

EDIT: Just end the naval phase. The French are moving last on land, and the French navy is happy to sit in Toulon.

I renamed the old install directory.
Downloaded and installed fresh copies of EmpiresInArms-SetupRelease-v1.23.08.zip and EmpiresinArms-UpdateComp-v1.25.03.zip, then overwrote with the files from EiANW 12603 Beta[0].zip.

I was afraid of that. Since my other games work without any issue with the large gaming monitor, I'm not sure I want to play it on the smaller laptop screen at this point. Spoiled, I guess. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: New! v1127 Public Beta Available

I don't have a 4K monitor but some players have mentioned getting an X resolution around 2560 (I forget what the Y resolution was). The problem is the map text which stays at the same resolution as the map - which can be too tiny to read unless you have a huge monitor or use a magnifying tool ...
