RE: Diplomatic System: Issues

<t> Each of promises to potential allies involved costs. The costs were not necessarily in currency, but they were real nonetheless. You need some way to quantify in game terms the trade-offs of promises made. How do you express in game terms the post-war territorial promises?&nbsp ...

RE: Ottoman surrender

Or, take off from an Italian port. Then you only need one amphib to get them from England to France, then another from Italy to Turkey. It takes longer, but it is cheaper in terms of ships.

RE: Hex Control and Surrendering

A related issue is units past the surrender line. I had a CP corp isolated in southern Italy after Italy surrendered. It could not move. I couldn't even disband it. That was with 1.1 so it may have been resolved since then.

<t> Even if the French successfully stop the Germans, a neutral England assures German eventual victory. With no blockade, Germany does not run out of steam in 1918. There is no U-Boat war, which means the Americans don't come in either. Would Italy have entered without England ...

Thanks, that really changes things. Before, you could roll back a line a bit between strategic phases. Now, the defender can dig in at any time.

Trenches - 1.2

I've just discovered something very odd. My Germans with 1.2 can no longer entrench. The entrench option simply never appears. I've tried during both initial HQ activation and production phase. Has something changed from 1.1.

This may represent Haig's promotion to overall English command. He is no longer an army level commander, so won't be represented on the board.

<t> I would suggest a more critical reading of your sources. 60 years of communist rule was justified based upon tarring the imperial regime. Not everything written is accurate. Similar in many ways the Tudor smearing of Richard III to prop up their own tenuous legitimacy.</t>

This game is like that old song about camp Granada. I hate it, I hate it, OH, THAT'S HOW IT WORKS!, I love it, I love it.
Gratefully, the experienced gamers will hold the hand of newbies like me.

RE: amphibious movement

Thanks everyone for the insight. Amphibious started working once OE entered (Belgium never did) and I move my corps off of London.
This raises a strategic issue. If the CP does not want OE in the war unless he has already declared war on Belgium.

RE: amphibious movement

Amphibous is still greyed out. I have amphibious transport in both NS and NA and control both. There are corps in both south coast ports.
Belgium and Holland are not at war. Would that prevent amphibious transport?

RE: Very Cool Game-Strategy discussion

<t> As a beginner myself, I found the east first strategy easier to manage. There is a CP Serbia thread which I suggest you read. Eliminating Serbia in 1914 and standing on the defense in the west means only the Russian front is an active front. Not declaring war on Belgium delays ...

amphibious movement

Is there a walk through or faq of amphibious movement posted? The search is not returning one. I haven't figured out how to move the BEF to France. I have transports in the NS, with escorts, and corps in London. But, amphibious movement is greyed out for these corps. I'm stumped.
