RE: Boardame Conversions

<t> The man stumbling block to a successful port is the AI.&nbsp; Most AI is not really that great, though can provide some enjoyment learning how to beat it.&nbsp; I think what many wargamers want is something along the lines of how Decision Games is handling War in Europe: their "game" is a player ...

RE: Unable to add or move factors to corps

Jimmer's suggestion of adding a relatively lengthy example explanation covering the full process of adding factors to corps in the field, in a city, and outside their home nation should suffice.

RE: Unable to add or move factors to corps

I hate to say this, but the obvious question is, are your corps located where they can accept replacements?&nbsp; The reason I ask is because that was the one bit of info you didn't provide :)

I had about the same response to the ticketing system as you did, Joe, and on a related issue.&nbsp; Hope you have better luck than I did.

RE: Best WWII Grand Stratigy Game

<r> Greatest ever...wow.&nbsp; I'd have to say A3R/RS.&nbsp; That answer is, of course, filtered through my own experience and tastes, though I had been eyeing WiF for years and have been dying to play WiE for years, too.&nbsp; The only thing that put me off WiF was the seemingly constant expansions ...

Support Response?

How long does it take to get a response from support? Is a month typical? Is there an email contact or is the ticketing system the only way to contact support?

I would love to see Federation & Empire come to the computer.&nbsp; I dearly love the board game, but the old pitfalls of space and time keep rearing their ugly heads.

RE: How did you get started in wargaming?

I'd always been nuts for history, particularly military history, so when we were in Florida on vacation when I was 10 and I saw the box for AH's Bismarck, I just had to have it. &nbsp; And thus my wargaming obsession was born :)

RE: Where did the Cavalry Go!!!?

Also, and I don't know if this might explain some apparent strength losses, in the computer game, each strength point is 2,000 men, not 1,000.

<t> Don't forget that the ratings need to reflect not only the strength of an individual commander, but also his place relative to the other commanders of the age.&nbsp; And all within a d6 rating system.<br/>

<t> I just had this happen again as Austria *sigh*.&nbsp; I lost the pursuit battle, was required to remove 1 factor and had 3 militia and 1 infantry factor remaining.&nbsp; Again, the program wouldn't let me kill anything and I could not advance nor save and had to exit via the task manager.</t>

RE: Is TCP/IP Supported?

TCP/IP should have been supported from the start.&nbsp; Not instead of PBEM or hotseat, but alongside the two.&nbsp; As this thread proves, there are almost as many preferences for type of multiplayer as there are players.
