I would tend to think Charles is correct - I think he just made a mistake in the way he wrote his ending.

Yes, 2.06 is technically the last official patch but 2.07 is fully approved and supported.

The game engine should support whatever your monitor supports. Go to OPTIONS / GFX, and turn off Set To Desktop Resolution and select the res you want.
