Need Allied Help - Jap Autovictory seems inevitable (No ColCathcart)

<t> It's late August 1942 in my CHS 159 PBEM with ColCathcart. I'm the Allies. Right now he has a nearly 5:1 VP advantage (roughly 25,500 - 5,600). What can I do to regain VPs before the autovictory check on 1/1/43? It really seems like I'll have to take desperate measures. Here is an overview of ...

RE: What to do when getting clobbered as the Allies (No Colcathcart please)

<t> Thanks for the responses so far.<br/>
<br/>
I'm thinking he has Noumea in his near-term plans, so my idea is to take the 2 Brit CV's I have near Sydney and the 2 US CV's just off Suva and place them in a couple different spots just off and on opposite sides of Noumea. Most of his naval air ...

What to do when getting clobbered as the Allies (No Colcathcart please)

<t> So we're nearing the end of April 1942 in our PBEM. I'm the allies. I'm not a newbie, but I'm still relatively inexperienced compared to a lot of PBEM players. My opponent seems to have played much more than I have. Things are not going well for me, and I'm hoping for some input. Here is the ...

RE: Reinforcements Question (NO COLCATHCART PLEASE)

10 B17-E's in the reserve pool, so not enough for the full 12-plane squadron. However, I had zero B-17D's in the pool, and I still got the full squadron of 12 B-17D's

Reinforcements Question (NO COLCATHCART PLEASE)

<t> 2 days ago in my CHS 159 PBEM game, my aircraft reinforcement schedule said I was going to have one group of B-17D's and one group of B-17E's arriving the next day. The D's arrived, but the E's didn't, and were nowhere to be found on the list of aircraft groups.<br/>

Early Allied Strategy (No ColCathcart please)

<t> ColCathcart and I are just entering Feb. 1942 in our WITP (non-AE) PBEM, CHS scenario 159 (experimental A2A mod).<br/>
<br/>
Mostly due to my inexperience in playing against humans, he's steamrolled me for the most part so far. He took Singapore on January 10th, and has virtually cut-off ...

RE: Crash to Desktop when clicking on individual ship

Installing the modified art pack seems to have remedied the problem. I haven't had a CTD once since.

Crash to Desktop when clicking on individual ship

<t> I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and WITP 1.806 (or whatever the most recent download available is).<br/>
I'm playing a CHS 159 scenario.<br/>
<br/>
Sometimes when I'm in the main screen for a task force, or the list of ships anchored at port, and I click on an individual ship, the ...

Benefits of Bombardment Attacks? Are they worth it?

<t> I've been playing WITP for a few years now, but am still a relative novice when it comes to PBEM's. My Japanese PBEM opponent in a CHS 159 game just took Singapore in mid-January '41.<br/>
<br/>
I built up as many forts as I could at Singapore before he arrived, and set every unit I could to ...

Any Way to See New Ship and Air Unit Arrivals with PBEM?

<t> With Human vs. CPU games, during the combat replays you are given notifications when a new ship or air unit arrives (e.g. SS Gato arrives at San Francisco, or VP-72 arrives at Seattle). With PBEM's, we don't get that.<br/>
<br/>
Other than going in to your ship and air unit lists each turn ...

Seeking opponent, either side, for 2-3 turn per week game

<t> Hey all,<br/>
<br/>
I haven't played WITP regularly for almost a year now, but want to get back in the swing. I've played as both the Allies and Japan in PBEM's before. I want to start a new PBEM with the grand campaign in either stock or the CHS mod.<br/>

Any Jap Fanboys had experience with the G5N Liz?

<t> Hey guys,<br/>
<br/>
I've never tried producing, nor even seen mention on the forums of the Japanese G5N Liz. According to the specs, it has very good range and top-notch payload...as far as Japanese bombers go at least.<br/>

So up to 115%, my planes will fly normally, but beyond 115%, there won't be any take-offs?

Carrier Loading

<t> Hey guys,<br/>
<br/>
So you can supposedly load a carrier to 110% of its capacity and still have it fly normal operations, right?<br/>
<br/>
Is it that you can load a carrier to 110% and still have it function normally, or once you hit 110% you start seeing bad things?<br/>

China Strategy for the Japanese

<t> There are plenty of threads in the "Must Reads" geared towards the Allied player defending China, but none for how the Japanese should go about their side of things.<br/>

I'm in my first PBEM as the red team and I'm struggling mightily with what I should be doing in China.<br/>

Quick refresh me...requirements for upgrading air units?

<t> Hey all,<br/>
<br/>
Quick question that I can't find an answer to by search, and I've learned not to trust the manual....<br/>
<br/>
What are the requirements to upgrade an air unit to a different type of plane? I attempted it at a large base (don't want to give my PBEM partner(s) and hints ...

RE: Need Opinions, *No rroberson*

<t> Thanks everybody for your insights.<br/>
<br/>
What's happening now:<br/>
<br/>
As far as Suva goes, my bombardment TF was attacked by a lone allied CV. SBD's put 5 1000lb'ers on a BB, but all it did was give me 3 SYS damage. I shot down 4 SBD's and damaged 11 more. He must have been aiming ...

A Sincere Thank You

<t> Without being overly sappy, I just wanted to let all the veterans of this game know how much I appreciate your help. I ask a lot of questions on the forums, but unfortunately, due to my lesser experience, I can't give a lot of answers or valid comments. I'm nowhere close to the level of ...

Mid-Late War IJN Carrier Loadout Question

<t> So in my boredum at work, I was reading random threads from the past. One thing that particularly startled me was somebody's unanswered question on whether or not later Japanese Carriers (Unryus, Ibuki, etc.), if accelerated, will arrive without aircraft if Jills, Judys, and later Zeros haven't ...
