RE: LCG Question

I was in the sixth battle of the WF Rommel desert LCG and on a whim started and saved a battle in another WF LCG and assumed the second LCG would surely be saved in a different file. Boy, wrong assumption.

RE: An easy solution for patch complaints

Definitely sounds like it needs fixing, huh? What do you lose in 1.02b vs 1.03 besides the artillery effects vs armor?

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<r> Oberst Gehringer's 39th Pz Rgmt runs rampant through the Russian rifle division and a company of T-34s and two companies of T-60s, exiting 1960 VPs through the exit hex. The 340 VP hex is taken on the 12th turn as incessant fire eventually pushes the Russian infantry platoon into a 2 SP loss and ...

RE: An easy solution for patch complaints

<t> I'm playing the Barbarossa Center campaign, 13 battles through late October 1941. <br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
If that's the case with late-war Russian artillery, I don't look forward to facing their late-war guns. Jason has said in another thread that 1.03 probably will still present a problem getting ...

<t> "The DCG game I was playing was late in the war. Soviet artillery was much more heavily concentrated then."<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Ah, I hadn't considered that. In the Barbarossa campaign, I get about a dozen Russian artillery fires at the most at the start of their turn, less as they'er knocked out ...

RE: An easy solution for patch complaints

<t> Is Jason receiving payment for what he does concerning patches? It's my understanding he's doing this for free in his spare time. That's not to say Matrix might look into paying some folks for updates and patches if that's the case with Jason.<br/>

I just haven't had the unfortunate ...

RE: 1.03 disappointing....Jason

<t> I haven't seen an excessive number of panzer deaths by artillery and mortar in my v1.03 East Front Barbarossa DCG campaign. Now in my 13th battle, there has been perhaps one tank knocked out per battle by artillery fire, though I agree, mortar shells were unlikely to destroy a tank, or even ...

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<r> Turn 11, and it's almost over for the Russian rifle division, with support from a T-34 tank company. The first panzer platoon has just exited the map for 15 VPs. The shootout with the T-34s was dramatic, as they advanced to point-blank range and destroyed two PzIIIGs before being overwhelmed by ...

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<r> Turn 8 and 39 Pz Rgmt is now approaching Vyazma and surrounding villages. Oberst Gehringer, in the 45VP village near the bottom and now with Command Value 5, has just destroyed two T-34s in the center of the map while commanding a platoon of PzIIIGs, and a second PzIIIG platoon has knocked out a ...

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<r> October 26, 1941 finds Oberst Gehringer's regiment in Vyazma once again, engaging in a highway clearing operation. The regiment is supported by an infantry battalion, with three Schutzen infantry companies and one heavy company, as well as two engineer platoons. This illustrates the compactness ...

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<t> In that picture above, I meant to say enemy 'artillery' fire had come from the right, not 'infantry' fire.<br/>
<br/>
Hidden ATGs were the reason for my artillery fire into those two hexes to the left and right of my leading infantry. We got one according to the enemy Strength stats, but one ...

I think this might work. It's a picture from the sixth battle of Major von Mellenthin's Poland DCG, third turn, as his battalion advances up the left side of the map against Polish opposition.

<t> Oberst Wilhelm Gehringer's 39th Panzer Regiment meets a Russian rifle division in a meeting engagement on October 21 at Vyazma and comes away with another crushing victory. RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<t> A cautious yet complete victory for Oberst Gehringer's 39th Panzer Rgmt, 17th Pz Div, at Belyy on October 10, 1941. Only two tanks are lost in combat, both PzIVs, as six supporting infantry companies and three artillery batteries take the primary burden of the fighting. Nine infantry SPs fell to ...

RE: Continuing East Front DCG Campaign

<t> Jason reports in the 1.04 thread that this 1.03 campaign very likely will not be able to proceed into January 1943, a little over a year down the road, game time. I'm thinking of waiting to download 1.04 and begin a new EF DCG campaign, rejecting promotions and staying at battalion strength ...

RE: The 1.04 UPDATE.

<t> Hmmm. Have to think about that. The regiment is more time-consuming than a battalion. I might decide to download 1.04 and then just reject promotions and stay with a battalion.&nbsp; I'd like to go beyond 1-43 and it sounds like you're saying there's a likelihood I won't be able to with 1.03.</t>

<t> Jason,<br/>

You know from my AAR that I'm in&nbsp;the eleventh battle in&nbsp;my East Front DCG campaign and read above that you recommend a restart. Do you think the glitches will wreck my DCG down the road if I don't download 1.04 and start over? I haven't run into any problems ...

Jason,

I would like to post photos but I don't know how. Does Matrix have a section describing how to do so?
