Convoy escorts

In both world wars, battleship were deployed as convoy escorts, in order to deter enemy raiders. Is this modelled in the game? In other words, is there any point in assigning (old) capital ships to Trade Protection status?

Re: Historical Ships

If you are interested in historical ships and battles, it may be worth while trying to get hold of Steam and Iron - it uses the same game engine for battles, more or less.

Re: Unable to launch airstrikes

Thank you for the explanation, that makes sense. (The manual is rather misleading.) I'm not sure that my several torpedo bomber squadrons have ever managed to attack anything, though!

Unable to launch airstrikes

Playing as Germany in 1929, I have no ship based aircraft but plenty of land based. However, I have never been able to launch an airstrike - the button is always greyed out :( . Can anyone suggest an reason for this, please? (I'd like to attach a save game, but I can't work out which file type to ...

Thanks for the explanation, I thought there must be a downside!

Confused by bulges

When I add bulges in the rebuild window, the "weight remaining" increases by +500t but the speed remains unchanged. Is this working as intended and, if so, what is the rationale?

RE: Unable to resize Mission Editor horizontally

It wasn't a problem in CMANO and the Mission Editor window looks very similar.

Unable to load some community scenarios

<t> When I try to load some of my favourite "Northern Fury" scenarios I get the following (It may apply to others for all I know).<br/>
<br/>
"ERROR: You have (explicitly or implicitly) attempted to load a database that does not exist on the DB folder"<br/>

As I can't load the scenario at ...

RE: Unable to resize Mission Editor horizontally

I agree that this is rather aggravating. Other windows can be resized freely, which is very useful on dual screen setup. Hopefully this can be looked at again in a future update.[:)]

Stealth aircraft

<t> I've read that stealth aircraft are much more easily detected if they carry external stores, or when they open their bomb-bay doors. (Allegedly the F-117 shot down over the former Yugoslavia was detected due to the latter.)<br/>

Does anyone know if either of these factors modelled in ...

Armour protection

<t> I've just played "Operation Sobrania", a user scenario based upon the Beagle Channel confrontation of 1978. During a gun action between the Argentine and Chilean fleets, the General Belgrano (of Falklands fame) had it's engines destroyed by an early hit and was completely immobilized. Checking ...

<t> In the attached example, Flight Gypsy64 is tasked (via the mission editor) with intercepting some of the bandits approaching from the NE and has been ordered to engage pre-planned targets only. It has green targeting vectors to the designated targets and yellow to some of the others. (I am ...

Periscope depth?

<t> The preset for periscope depth is -66 ft. However, in the attached example, although the submarine is supposedly at periscope depth, the above water sensors and snorkel are inactive. If the sub is manually ordered to -65 ft. then they start working.<br/>
