RE: Where is antitank infantry ?

<t> I read stories that the Germans could take out many T-34s with the 20mm Vierling (flak).<br/>
<br/>
The 20mm couldn't penetrate the T34's armor, but they found that the crews always abandoned the tank because the metal hull became a huge bell from the many explosive projectiles, driving the ...

RE: Wish for Update: Air Recon

Me too, I always wanted to see recon planes. Why not allow planes like Fi156/Fw189 etc to move multiple times like any recon unit?

RE: Is this game like panzer general?

New maps

correct: somewhat less maps (26 instead of 38)

Also the game is really like PG, with some good changes (railroads etc) and some things from PG2 added. The graphics make a big difference if compared side by side.

RE: 8.8 cm flak question.

<t> I use the Pak as a support unit, as it was in real life units.<br/>
<br/>
Although with 1 hex movement you don't have much initiative, in most battles there is not much movement space in the front anyway, and you can place Paks in between.<br/>
<br/>
Surely you encountered those french ...

RE: 8.8 cm flak question.

I would still recommend you to have some 88 Flaks. Through the switch option it has become one of your best weapons against early tanks.

RE: Typos

this would be the least of my concerns.

I am actually more worried when serious post release support for this game is going to start, or if the two small patches were all that we are going to see.

France scenario

<r> This is something that instantly bothered me about the France map. In this scenario, Paris (which is too small anyway), has only a single road/railway going through it.<br/>
<br/>
Do you really think there would be no roads between e.g. Paris and Reims?<br/>

RE: Surprisingly challenging A.I

<t> I don't see much difference between AI in PC and PG. They behave more or less the same, which is already a partial success for the developer because it could have been worse.<br/>
<br/>
I also thought the first scenarios felt a bit harder, but imo this is only because at release PC is somewhat ...

RE: An airpower opinion.

<t> Air power is (partially) broken imo.<br/>
<br/>
Especially fighters. For example D520 Fighter vs PzIII -6 damage. <br/>
<br/>
In PG this was more stable, there was never more than 0/-1 damage<br/>
<br/>
I say partially broken because other things may have been improved too. For instance ...

RE: Thick forest

<t> In the Ardennes there is a single mountaineer unit that caused me quite a headache, because I could not move through thick forests.<br/>

Is thick forest (i.e forest that cannot be passed at all, forcing you to move a single file along roads) a new concept in PC or was it already in PG? I ...

<t> I thought the scenario was pretty unfair because of the many cruisers. But I managed a decisive victory at turn 12, in the first attempt. But I lost 1 tank and 1 inf from my core unit.<br/>

Luckily the AI made the mistake to concentrate their cruisers on my cruisers, instead of ...

RE: scenarios?

<t> No.<br/>
<br/>
There is no scenario editor.<br/>
<br/>
The available scenarios are encrypted zip files and protected with a password.<br/>
<br/>
Even if you know the passwords the files must be encoded in a serialized data format that is practically impossible to create by hand. <br/>
