RE: Any news on the 1.08 patch?

<t> The German player is penalized by taking that division because of something that hasn't happened in the current game. They not only pull the division, but fill it out with equipment from your pools before it goes. If the division isn't destroyed they would still have the equipment and men to ...

RE: Realism discussion

<t> None of the units destroyed at Stalingrad were withdrawn or sent to the west they were destroyed. The 7 units sent to other fronts were basically new divisions using destroyed unit designations. So if those units weren't destroyed the new units that were historically created would still go to ...

RE: Realism discussion

<t> Glad to hear that WITW has a better setup. I realize that the Wehrmacht didn't have the manpower or officer historically, but in the game the German player doesn't take anywhere near those casualties because the Soviet player tends to run. The problem is even with the massive casualties the ...

RE: Realism discussion

<t> To say that the Germans wouldn't have sent more units east if they had had the men and equipment to do so is what is shortsighted. Considering that most German players haven't lost anywhere near the men, equipment and units that were historically lost you can't say they wouldn't have gotten ...

RE: Realism discussion

<t> The problem with those reconstituted divisions being removed is they were new units because the old ones were destroyed. If you take the old unit and send it west, where does the newly created unit go? It doesn't go west because nothing changes in the west. So the German loses several divisions ...

RE: Please fix Soviet morale in 1941, its broken.

<t> What do people think about leaving the morale rules as they are and removing the 1-1=2-1? The higher CV would allow the Soviets to defend forward and still be able to counter attack but wouldn't be as easy to retreat German units as in the current version. This would also tone down the blizzard ...

RE: Sudden Death Optional Rule Proposal

<t> Mehring you have repeatedly missed the point that I've never said it would have happened, I said it was a possibility. I have no doubt FDR was doing everything in his power to get the US into the war. What you fail to understand is that Americans did not want to get involved. They could have ...

RE: Sudden Death Optional Rule Proposal

<t> There is a huge difference in virtual state of war and an actual one. A virtual one is US ships escorting British shipping in the Atlantic and an actual one is bombers over Germany. The 2nd wasn't going to happen without a declaration of war that congress was not willing to give even after the ...

RE: Sudden Death Optional Rule Proposal

<t> In no particular order<br/>
<br/>
1. FDR needed the Japanese or Germans to actually attack the US to get them into the war. He ran his 39-40 Presidential campaign on not sending US troops to fight foreign wars. So without Japan attacking PH the US can build all the war materails they want but ...

RE: Sudden Death Optional Rule Proposal

<t> Mehring, are you saying that Stalin could never have been removed from power no matter how badly the war went? If you are then it is you who have the fundamental misunderstanding. We don't know what would have happened is what I said. Could the Soviet government have surrendered with the loss of ...

RE: Sudden Death Optional Rule Proposal

<t> The problem with victory conditions is that we don't know what could have or would have happened, only what did. What would have happened if the Germans managed to capture Moscow? Would the Soviets have surrendered? I personnally don't think Stalin ever would have surrendered. However had he ...

RE: Axis war diary

<t> I prioritise my 70 and 85 morale units for attacks in the first turn until they bump up one to get the decreased movement into enemy hexes and then once they do move on to the next unit. I do the same with the allied units at 40 when they first come free. Getting the 40 and 70 units up one can ...

Any way to view total Soviet industry you've destroyed?

I was just trying to see how many Arm, HI, vehicles etc I have destroyed and can't seem to find it. If it is not available to the player is it possible to add it to the information screen? Thanks in advance.

RE: The most important thing to fix WitE's playability

<t> Right now the Soviet player has all the advantages they had historically, some they didn't have such as foreknowledge and hindsight, and some disadvantages have been removed such as poor command and control and early war supply issues. The Soviets also get a bonus to attack which should have ...

RE: The most important thing to fix WitE's playability

<t> I would suggest that the factories not be able to be relocated until they were historically and only the amount that was moved. Then after the date they were evacuated you could move more if you still held the city. The problem I see is the Soviets get to play Stalin by ordering the troops to ...

Then, as many others have suggested, the solution is simple--you simply lose any Tigers if your TOE is at 100%, to represent them being sent to other fronts--is that better? At least this way you can build up a reserve of Tigers and use the heck ...
