Re: Against Entente AI

So where's the main body of the French Army? Enquiring minds want to know.

Nice job isolating Samsonov's army in East Prussia. The German Fourth Army inflicting horrific losses on the French is historical; look up the Battle of Rossignol on 22 August where the German VI Corps effectively ...

Re: Against Entente AI

Not a bad start to operations, at least insofar as the Germans are doing well.

Re: Against Entente AI

I think I read somewhere that some people manage to keep British out of the war, though I believe it requires to respect Belgian neutrality.
I have never experienced this but I suppose that it is theoretically possible. One of the great aspects about WW1G is that it follows the history really well ...

Re: Against Entente AI

Getting the Ottoman Empire on side helps, well done! With the Diplomatic Poker option it might have been better to prioritize getting Italy to adhere to her treaty obligations and declare war on France. The British are coming in with France and Russia regardless of any diplomacy you can try, which ...

Re: Against Entente AI

Thanks for the invite. My previous experience at PBEM (not with WW1G) did not go well and having been once burned, am reluctant to try again. Besides, I am not sure that the game even with Patch 1.07Q is stable enough to actually handle PBEM for any length of time. But thanks anyway. Apologies for ...

Re: Against Entente AI

The Diplomatic Poker option is a must for the Central Powers in any 1914 Grand Campaign.

By way of shameless plug, have you tried my fixes and edits to WW1G?

I quite like commanding an SSBN/PLARB in CMO so gave this a try. PM follows to avoid spoilers.

Scenario 2: Knock Knock

More of the same without even starting the scenario clock.

Orders state that there is a squadron of Norwegian F-86 Sabres (331 NO with fourteen planes) at Bardufoss airbase except there isn't and the base has zero aircraft. A quick check in the editor also shows that the event for HMCS Annapolis is ...

Re: Scenario 1: Down Bird

I am disappointed with this DLC and "unpolished" is a pretty good description of the problems. In addition to the issues articulated above I have been unable to land the US Marines by helo and the Norwegian Marines, which orders state are already on the island, don't actually exist. Using some of ...

Re: Scenario 1: Down Bird

Does anyone know why there is a KC-135 tanker with no loadout orbiting the Gulf of Benin?

It's to big to land at Banak and there is no other Player air base so presumably the plan is that it just continues to fly around in circles off West Africa until it crashes from fuel exhaustion. Nice feature ...

I think that Vesku80 is proposing an unpopular solution to a CMO problem that does not exist.

Re: Command: MO - Fail Safe out February 25th

The briefing for scenario 1 - Down Bird, states that I should have 331 Squadron with 14-NF-104 Starfighters but the scenario loads with 14-USAF F-105 Thuds instead. Is this going to be corrected or rationalized in the future?

Re: The Battle of the Iceland Basin, 1970 - new beta for testing

I think that the problem with Wasp operating the Douglas A-4 was related to her hydraulic catapults. My understanding is that the next-to-last generation of these were never replaced but were also unable to reliably accelerate the launching Skyhawks to safe flying speed. It seems that the CVA Essex ...

Re: The Battle of the Iceland Basin, 1970 - new beta for testing

I would create a non-player side, friendly to the Player and add the SOSUS arrays, Facility #1564. In order not to clutter the map, group the arrays with a land HQ so that they do not appear on the map in the group view. The Wiki article has a map with the locations of the first generation arrays ...

Re: The Battle of the Iceland Basin, 1970 - new beta for testing

Wasp's last cruise was in 1970 and her air group CVSG-84 did not include any Skyhawks. It is my understanding that not all of the CVS could employ the A-4. Other than that, I agree that the lack of SOSUS could well be explained in the scenario description or briefing. I would also recommend placing ...

Re: Cant create/join Multiplayer

You're running the 1.08q patch which means that multi-player is PBEM. Check your game folder, there should be a .pdf file named WW1_PBEM_Manual , which installed with the patch.

Never used it so no idea if it works or not. The community consensus back in the day was that AGEOD titles in general ...

Re: [BUG / ERROR] The Silent Service - The Enemy Below

The issue is as old as CMANO and here's a bug report for CMO from 2021:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10230&t=376971&p=4932928#p4932928

It seems clear that there's no plan to fix the problem of diesel boats exhausting batteries while surfaced and running at speed. The save ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing:Deter Detect Defend 1960:North East America Variant

You used the title from my scenario and stole the scenario description practically verbatim and yet are either too lazy or too ignorant (both could be true) to bother with credit to the originator or acknowledging your plagiarism.

All in all a pretty sloppy piece of work:
- If the RCAF has the CF ...

Re: Command: Modern Operations - 64-Bit Update

Thanks.

Windows 7 is not supported anymore, is it?

If that is the case, 1307.19 will be the last patch for that OS?

Presumably and it is probably unreasonable to call for continued backwards compatibility. I tried the 1.06 update in my 64-bit Win-7 machine but there was no usable functionality ...
