RE: Axis capabilities, Allies entering war timeline and best beginner country?

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>1) Yes, its quite possible to conquer London, particularly against the AI. It's not easy, but I've done it a handful of times in single player and once or twice in multiplayer when the WAllies got cute. <e>
</e></QUOTE>

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

<t> I asked this in the World at War forum but it doesn't look like it gets a lot of views. So I'll ask here as well. <br/>
<br/>
Just some questions I have.<br/>
<br/>
1. Is it possible for the Axis to conquer London? How about landing and holding the US? If possible, are these goals even worth ...

Axis capabilities, Allies entering war timeline and best beginner country?

<t> Just some questions I have. <br/>
<br/>
1. Is it possible for the Axis to conquer London? How about landing and holding the US? If possible, are these goals even worth pursuing? <br/>
<br/>
2. Is Russia entering the war or the US entering the war on the allies side inevitable? I think I read ...

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

<t> I'm currently leaning towards Gary Grigsby's World at War: A World Divided. Mainly because it look likes something I am already familiar with (Axis and Allies) and a few of you have suggested it is a great place to start. Thank you all for your suggestions! They have been a big help and have ...

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

Uncommon Valor and it's cousin War in the Pacific look really interesting but they also look about 10 times more complex than anything I have ever played before. I don't know if they would be a good starting point :S

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

<t> I've looked at those games:<br/>
<br/>
WW2: Time of Wrath (has a demo you can try)<br/>
Commander - Europe at War Gold<br/>
Gary Grigsby's World at War: A World Divided <br/>
<br/>
World at War looked interesting because it looks like an advanced Axis and Allies. Does it suffer from Axis ...

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

<t> Answers to more questions:<br/>
<br/>
"are you interested in any particular time/place in history?"<br/>
<br/>
WWII. But I am open to others. But WWII is definitely more where my interest lies. I should add that I like games where the outcome isn't totally predicted. I'm not sure how much I ...

RE: Best game to enter the genre?

<t> I'll answer your questions!<br/>
<br/>
"Do you prefer operational or tactical level control? (or something in between)"<br/>
<br/>
I prefer more macro level control. Something like Axis and Allies. <br/>
<br/>
<br/>
"Do you prefer a game with a moderate level of complexity/time investment ...

Best game to enter the genre?

<t> I love playing games like Risk and Axis and Allies. I also played heavily Master of Orion I & II, and all four Civilizations. I also played a healthy does of Heroes of Might and Magic III. <br/>
<br/>
However, I am looking to get into wargaming. Axis and Allies is probably my favourite game ...

3 Questions on winning with Axis, game end date, and best nation to learn with

<t> I have just started playing this game and I had a couple of newbie questions:<br/>
<br/>
1. I've read that the game is stacked in the Allies favor and thus an Axis victory is highly improbable. Is this true? Can you "conquer the world" playing as the Axis? <br/>
<br/>
2. Is there an option ...
