RE: Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

<t> Yes, that's what I did, I slashed formation proficiencies considerably, especially for the British. I was able to balance it without messing much with unit proficiencies.<br/>
<br/>
But the best solution would still be to make it hard to attack with low supply, and to have a "minimum supply to ...

RE: Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

<t> Two Weeks uses two supply units, one for the US and one for the British, to model the abilities of both armies to give supply priority to different parts of the front. All units within 10 MP of the supply unit should receive extra supplies.<br/>
<br/>
Is there any way to edit the supply ...

RE: Comprehensive Wishlist

<t> If a halftrack is a halftrack in combat, then a truck is a truck; and since a truck is unarmed, trucks don't increase the combat effectiveness of anything else, e.g., infantry, in the same unit.<br/>
<br/>
Correct? If so, all we really need to model a truck pool is to allow transfers of the ...

RE: Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

<t> My limited experience with 3.4, testing for this scenario, is that the big supply problem remains unfixed.<br/>
<br/>
Distribution of supply is better, but it is still way too easy to attack without supply. Because of that, the pace of combat is too fast over time, at least in one-day turn ...

RE: Comprehensive Wishlist

<t> Would be be sufficient simply to allow exchange of equipment between two units which start the turn in the same hex? <br/>
<br/>
That plus a few dummy truck units (e.g., 1 jeep and 0/50 trucks) would allow shuttling of trucks between different divisions on different turns.<br/>
<br/>
I haven ...

RE: Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

<t> Kunz, thank you. You can see Zetterling's point elsewhere if you look, Allied pilots kept claiming a gazillion vehicles destroyed, but then the tank recovery guys would go over the ground after the German retreated and find only a few vehicles which had obviously been destroyed from above. The ...

RE: Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

I don't have the AA patched exe myself. If the AA patch breaks something, I would want to know. Go ahead and use it, and give us a report.

The AA patch shouldn't have a huge effect, but it would be nice to have that confirmed.

Two Weeks In Normany, Version 4.0 Beta Test

<r> <br/>
This is a playtest thread for the beta test of Version 4.0 of <B><s></s>Two Weeks In Normandy 44<e></e></B>, a longstanding TOAW scenario which was included in the TOAW III package.<br/>
<br/>
It covers the first two weeks of the Normandy campaign, with 1.5km hexes, in exactly 12 ...

RE: Comprehensive Wishlist

<t> Thank you for the good words. I'm glad you didn't find it terribly unbalanced. Version 3.0, played in TOAW 3.4, is pretty unbalanced toward the Allies when the PO plays itself; the Allies almost always win.<br/>

<t> Yes, I have played around with the attrition divider. 20 seems to be the sweet spot for some reason, the Germans do worse if it is either higher or lower.<br/>

<t> sPzAbt653, I like the "color code" rule but there is no way to hard code this into the game, right? You have to rely on voluntary enforcement by two human players?<br/>

RE: Comprehensive Wishlist

<t> I'm Brett Turner, designer of Two Weeks in Normandy 44, presently working on version 3.1, to balance for TOAW 3.4. The ant unit changes have had a big effect on this scenario, as there are a lot of weak German units on all beaches except Omaha, and the Allies are getting off those beaches a lot ...

Where to upload a revised scenario?

<t> <br/>
After doing other things for a while, I've come back to TOAW, upgraded to TOAW 3 and produced an updated version of Two Weeks In Normandy, my short (12 turn) Normandy scenario included with TOAW 3.<br/>
<br/>
Most of the scenario sites which were active a few years back have faded away ...
