RE: Soviet Army Layouts

<t> there is a 10% cv penalty for units directly attached to front hq and don't forget those units could be used else where for what ever purpose and keep front staff work down as a reserve of sorts to fit some other formation ...just a thought since I tend not to be so orginised yet but spend mass ...

RE: 1.08 Discussion

<r> anything that reduces the micro managment aspect of the game is welcome for me! perhaps in a future update you could say ummm ad a powerful ai stavka staff officer assistant! I mean one that is truly usful. I predict mass volume depletions and or busy mirror sites![:D]

RE: Campaigns

<t> the dynamic campaign's ai is an interesting animal. when it plays german in erly years its very aggressive and tends to coordinate well with its intentions. It really depends on what kind of unit you choose..if you take a Russian tank battalion you will soon learn how to defeat them. now if you ...

RE: Need a Sensable Quartermaster!

infantry units use a different kind of fuel mostly relying on what keeps horses moving. inf fuel is drawn from supply much like ammo is if I remember correctly. Russians suffer from fuel shortages early on among inf units robbing them of other things.

<t> [&o]Governato You should be paid for scenario desighn in my humble opinion but, only humble in my opinion.[8|]<br/>
This scenario is definitely the best corps army scale simulation of the war I ever played. I have been playing on the eastern front since 1978 at all scales. Your work is the ...

RE: Germans AI rolled up in 56 turns by a novice is this normal?

<r> Thanks for the replies everyone. As for what AVF said...i only kicked its ass during the winter and summer 42 <E>:D</E> It seemed to play well enough when the ai had a clear strategic goal. Although i saw it waste valuable time wating for its rail heads while i made the upper dnepr erea solid ...

RE: Germans AI rolled up in 56 turns by a novice is this normal?

<r> I'm thinking maybe the attacking ai should get recon advantages ie no fog of war at all <E>:D</E> I did give the german advantage in all but fort levels wich the reds had a true advantage but did not punish the reds in supply etc untill 42 when i started to understand how supply works. The ...

RE: Germans AI rolled up in 56 turns by a novice is this normal?

<r> This is the Position in june. It only had allied minors covering the easyest way to berlin or in my limited logistical case allowed me to roll up his front to the south. It did nothing to try to shorten its front attacking localy with no idea of what was up. There must be something that can be ...

RE: Germans AI rolled up in 56 turns by a novice is this normal?

<r> This should give a better picture of the overal situation. It played so well in the early going pressing natural avenues in my lines and doing turning tactics forcing withdrawls then suddenly it goes insane trying to get to what it thinks is important.<br/>

Germans AI rolled up in 56 turns by a novice is this normal?

<r> Hey guys after running the game on normal for about half the game i turned up the settings running my summer 42 offensive with 90 logistics and germans at 110. The german had a rather large disaster in the fall winter of 41 by pskov. They shoved 5 panzer and about as many motorised behind my ...

RE: How good is this game ?

<t> War in the East is without question the best simulation of the eastern front of its scale. My opinion is based on a book i read in 1985. Operation Barbarossa Strategy and Tactics on the eastern Front 1941 by Brian Fugate. It was the first book of its kind based on declassified russian war data ...

RE: What am i not understanding about unit build up

Thanks AFV I considerd all your suggestions. My manual says june 41. I'm mostly griping about having to rely on manual errata in genral. If that is what i am dealing with for this issue. If it helps i'm playing the new little trainer scenario veliki luki. .

What am i not understanding about unit build up

<t> This drives me mad guys. A simple concept and mechanic that does not produce results because of incompleteness of the rules and weak a game feedback system. I want to make a rifle division out of two rife brigades..not naval in supply in move mode with 22 administration points. I believe i need ...

RE: Strange AI behavior

in one of my 41 games the german ai became very agressive and succesful after a 3-4 turn pause exept for local attacks. its morale was set at 105. i am far from an expert player and so i may have encouraged it by poor play.

RE: Optimal support levels

<t> Did not the boot camp also say you can just lock everything and the ai will do a good job for you? I am going through the same learning process for the red side with only 5 front commands and billions of ant units. As ron says wargames can be tedius. But they are far easyer now then the old days ...

Panzer campaigns are very good imo if played with the phased turns. Smolensk is packed with feel. Much like war in the east.

German AI

Hey guys i think that war in the east has a very strong attacking ai. It is certainly better then Toaw. I dont know the game well yet but i see it doing logical things and keeps me guessing. I have also seen it use different methods during the first barb turn. Kudos to you guys at the office.
