seems to me, if you insist on using depth charges against subs, you really need to make sure that they are nukes.

It is, of course, harder to control multiple small groups.

One point nobody addressed:

Just what IS the "enemy sub"? It may well be that, even at 17 knots, it is considered to be very quiet. For example, the Seawolf can creep at 19 kn. Does the "enemy sub" have a similar xcapability?
