RE: Ok lets take America out of WW2.

<t> One thing that disgusts me about WW2 is the arrogance of the US. Yes indeed the US played a role in helping defeat tyranny and help spread freedom. <br/> <br/> But to claim you did all this on your own?? <br/> <br/> Sorry, at least 26 million Russians lost their lives fighting the fascists. And ...

RE: which is your favorite game?

<t> For me the best game ever has to be Elite. <br/> <br/> David Braben and Ian Bell redefined what a computer game could be, and even to this day I’m not sure that what they achieved, with their non-linear game play, has been bettered. <br/> <br/> I know this is a stratergy/wargame forum, but even ...

<t> I will try and bite my tongue here, as to reply to this as I would want to involves lots of foul and abusive language.[:@] To suggest that WW1 was a boring non event and those that took part were not worthy of mention….and to demean those that took part in that terrible conflict to a level of ‘m...

Rolf Harris! Lleyton Hewitt! Paul Hogan! Kylie Minogue! Mel Gibson! Shane Warne – can you hear me Shane Warne! Your boys took one hell of a beating! Your boys took one hell of a beating!'

Just as Bjorge Lillelien would have said it. [:'(]

Very sad, and one can only have great admiration for him.

It’s good to read he went around school’s talking about his past. Hope it inspires those children he met to better things in life.

RE: Undo

Whilst the undo arrow and quick save helps, I keep finding myself making unwanted mouse clicks then send my units all over the place a problem. A more expansive undo move would really help. No matter how hard I try to be careful I still end up with units moving by accident.

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>It's funny that I find that surprising that it doesn't interest you when I have little interest in the English Civil War (although I feel the need to point out that that is partly due to the fact I am Scottish and not English). <e>
</e></QUOTE> <br/> Well I'm English,...

<t> Well I’m relatively new to Matrix games and forums. All the games I have point to the forums as being one of the plus points of owning a Matrix game, and I have to agree, the forums are very good and a great help.<br/> <br/> I don’t mind people having their own views at all, and I am happy to re...

I've been using NOD32 for a few years now and IMHO it's the best out there, yes it's not free, but worth paying for.

RE: A temporary pause in DRM?

<t> Hmm yes reading the article about the Sims 3 I did think this was temporary, but one can only hope. I did notice that Gamersgate had a discount on 'Men of War' last week, but as soon as I saw those three dreaded letters any chance of me buying the game disappeared in an instance.<br/> <br/> Also...

A temporary pause in DRM?

<t> Just been reading about the new Sims release. I have no interest in this game, but I am aware that it sells more than a few copies, but it’s being released without DRM? From what I've read it will use the good old serial number on the disc, just like what Matrix have always used.<br/> <br/> Mayb...

RE: Consideration of a Courage Rating

<t> I was not just pointing out just any misspelling, but that your post clearly implies that you read a ‘historic’ book that mentioned the Zulu conflict and you got excited, and took all that was written in that book as fact. My post was asking you to not just read one book, but rather go and resea...

RE: Other games like this?

I’ve always enjoyed the simple yet compelling gameplay of CEAW. I will also echo the recommendations for Gary Grigsby's A World Divided and Advanced Tactics. And yes Advanced Tactics is not quite in this genre, but I recommend it, and I’m no grognard either.

<t> I’m all for people having opinions on want happened in history. But I don’t like opinions based on bogus history you may have read somewhere, which in your case involves ‘guessing’ at the number of combatants involved. The battle you refer to in your post is the ‘Battle of Isandlwana’, not as yo...

RE: War Movies on DVD

<t> I&#8217;ve watched a few Blu-ray films as I have a PS3, and yes the picture quality is sharper and better than DVD. Obviously I did not buy a PS3 to watch Blu-ray, and I can&#8217;t really justify buying a Blu-ray player just for added picture quality it gives. It&#8217;s nice but it...
