RE: Similar systems....

Yeah, I've played hours-on-hours off all these. They all have great attributes. That said, I was hoping for something on the operational side and a bit more "realistic" in terms of planning. Something like Command Ops 2, but modern and with CMO-like bells-and-whistles.

Similar systems....

<t> Hi! I'm a (relatively) new player to Command: Modern Ops and I love it. It's been a hugely rewarding experience and I've learned a lot. <br/> <br/> One question I have: Is there a game out there that simulates the ground combat element side of the battlefield with the same fidelity and detail as...

Fields of Fire solo board game has a Vietnam campaign, Volume 2 will have one aswell.

Yeah, I have both of these pre-ordered. It doesn't look like GMT prints them until next summer, though.

Any speculation as to why this seems such an avoided subject for serious consideration?

RE: Vietnam War game

I have, yeah. They're not bad, but a little one-dimensional and dated. I also don't think they really grasp the problems specific to Vietnam. It's almost like they could change the pieces and maps to a WWII setting and the game wouldn't change a bit.

Vietnam War game

<t> I thought I'd ask a general question of wargames and developers... Why hasn't a deeply detailed operational game every been made depicting the Vietnam War? I'm thinking on the level of a Gary Grigsby game, Command Ops, or the Flashpoint Series as an example. The closest I've seen is a long serie...
