Re: Destroyed LCU Screen

In this list of units, some that are listed as "not defined" can be altered to become recallable (with the cost given).

For a "not defined" unit you're interested in, try a combination of left and right clicks (on the unit name) and the unit might appear as now having a cost (listed perhaps at the ...

When I considered flying supplies into Kasgar, I was worried that supplies delivered to Kasgar would take a long time to travel south. Hitting 5 when (centered on Kasgar) shows the very slow pace of delivery to cities south. Ansi seems to be too far away (by secondary roads) to get deliveries at all ...

Re: Why no interception?

"CAP may react to defend a target as far as 2 hexes away" says the manual (7.4.1). But perhaps this was changed in the game at some point.

Re: Base Infographic parethesis (what?!)

My interpretation of the statement that "MDL is between 0 and 10" is that this is the range of MDL that goes into the relevant algorithm (for determining the quantity and accuracy of information about the base). That is, if the displayed MDL = 14, then only 10 is entered into the algorithm.

On the ...

Port Attack Types (Air): Just to confirm my understanding: When attacking ports from the air, does "Ground Attack Port" reduce Naval Interdiction originating from that port, and "Strategic Bombardment Port" reduce the port's capacity? Is this interpretation accurate?

Ground attacks on ports ...

Re: How outdated is the Hardback manual?

I think you can open the digital "living manual" and then search for the characters "V1." This should bring you to all the various additions added after the initial manual.

My 98-year-old father-in-law is also around.

He was drafted in 1944 into the Navy and was slated to enter officer training until he failed an eye test. He was then sent into the so-called Eddy Program, which was an extremely difficult technical program training men to operate and, as important ...

Revival of Pago Pago, logistics, and the lack of xAKs

False advertising: the article below DOES have a map with Pago Pago on it, but isn't really about that port. Instead, the article is about the current lack of US commercial merchant ships (xAKs) for military use in the case of a war way across the Pacific Ocean.

Perhaps the last update of WITP: AE ...

Revival of Tinian airfield

Interesting article on Tinian, logistics, and more:

The remote Pacific airfield used to launch the atomic bombings of Japan during World War II is being revived with a different foe in mind: China.

Runways emerging from the encroaching jungles on the tiny island of Tinian, a U.S. territory, are ...

Re: Update

I have been informed that those pilots that come in like that, come in from the editor and apparently it is when those actual pilots historically came into those units. There is no need to take them from the training programs.

Yes, I found it annoying since those pilots usually are not trained to ...

Re: Update

Here is the sort of thing I've been seeing.

The first example might involve returning wounded. That's fine.

But the second two examples involve pilots being automatically added to units despite "manual" being the setting. And, these pilots are clearly not appropriate for these two units as they ...

Ideally, the dialogue box for confirming disbanding would appear only i f the TF commander was manually selected. That would make it more helpful.

I imagine, though, that implementing a check for a manually selected TF commander is more tricky that it might appear at first glance. And, in any case ...

Re: My TF wont move

One thing you might attempt is to put the low-fuel ship(s) in a TF with a ships or more that do have lots of fuel. Then, tell the ships to "replenish at sea."This might lead to low-fuel ships to take fuel from the ships with adequate fuel. The, once the low-fuel ships have more fuel, you might be ...

Re: My TF wont move

A green circle can indicate that some ship(s) in the TF do not have adequate fuel to make the journey that the TF is assigned. Yes, some other ships in the TF might have enough for them to make the journey, but these other ships don't want to share their fuel with the low-fuel ship(s). Why? Because ...

Thanks. I'll give that a shot.

In any case, I'm used to saving the game quite frequently:I have cats that apparently act on directions issued by the Japanese embassy to engage in sabotage by walking across the keyboard, occasionally causing interesting consequences.

Here's my new switches when I ...

I hope the above works in Windows 10, but I'm not sure what the relevant display screens look like in Windows 10. I use Windows 11 on a laptop with a Ryzen 7 pro CPU with Radeon 780M Graphics & 16 GB of RAM, so your experience might be different than mine.

What I've found is that if the screen goes ...

Re: Not possible to use the game in 2nd monitor?

I just hooked up a 2nd monitor a couple of days ago. It is a, well, game-changer.

So far as I can tell, WITP only works when it is displayed on what is identified in Windows as the "main display." You can make your second monitor the main display by going to settings --> display. Then click on ...
