RE: SqzMyLemon

It's been years since I've been on this forum. You almost have to wonder why I decided to have another look just as my old opponent has passed. He was a good man. My condolences to the family, and also to his friends in the community here.

RE: The Conquest of China

<t> The problem with increasing starting fatigue and disruption is that it only gives a short-term penalty to the Japanese. They can easily be sent to well-supplied cities, recover for a couple of weeks and then start their offensive. This gives the Chinese some time to improve their positions, but ...

Thanks Norm, but that would indicate another entirely different problem. VMF-221 flying corsairs definitely states it is carrier trained. That is why I attached it to the CV as other units only indicated carrier capable. <br/>

RE: Dilemma

<t> Thanks for the welcome, I've indeed seen that michael has kept busy, but haven't run into large game mechanic changes yet. Any that I should be aware of ? PBEMs are not for the near future, I'm afraid I'd run into the same problems that ended our PBEM. I've got enough time to flip turns against ...

<t> Hello Joseph, nice to see you are still enjoying PBEM campaigns, I hope you can make it all the way to Japan in this one. I've recently picked the game up again after a long hiatus and will be following some AARs as well. If my old opponent picks up the Allies himself, I'm definitely interested ...

RE: Not so quiet China

<t> Basically, the AI works on pre-written scripts for the strategic/higher level stuff. This is turned off on the Chinese front in a quiet China game, so you will not see large scale offensives. However, there is also a part of the AI that will attack when it sees weak stacks close to it's lines ...

<t> Yep it's PDU off. Cuts on both ends, off the +- 150 Japanese planes there were a 100 Oscars. On the other hand both USAAF fighter groups in Burma are equipped with P-40 variants while there are lots of P-38 doing not much at all in SWPac. (Had one P38-E squadron, but they came in first and lost ...

<t> Supply is no issue as long as I don't get the ground routes cut off. This game predates supply movement caps, so I can get almost everything I need by playing with the supply draw buttons.
