RE: Amphibious Landings

<t> I know I'm a relative newbie here, but I tend to disagree, and here is why.&nbsp; The entire peninsular campaign was transported and supplied from the sea.&nbsp; As noted above, not only was this a logistical nightmare, but it was an incredible feat of logistics in my opinion given the state of ...

RE: Frigates or ships for blockades?

<t> Hello guys,<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
I'd like to share my two cents on this.&nbsp; I think the costs of the fleets are appropriate.&nbsp; This would represent the cost, facilities, and infrastructure to home port the collection of ships in the fleet, procure, warehouse, and tramsport supplies and ...

RE: That was satisfying!

<t> Hmmmm, Galveston was a major port for the Confederacy (and of course Texas in particular).&nbsp; I think the game reflects that admirably (I don't think the programmers put it there on a whim I guess is what I'm saying).<br/>

Simultaneous improvements builiding

<t> Hello guys,<br/>
<br/>
Has anyone else noticed this - I started building multiple Mints in one city and discovered after checking the delivery dates that all four will come on line simultaneously. I know I've mentioned this before, but is this intended? Or is there a formula or whatever that ...

Do you have the latest version?&nbsp; It's my understanding that the AI as Union should go for the Anaconda plan pretty regularly.

Manufacturing Plant Questions

<t> First question: <br/>
<br/>
The Manufacturing Plant development - is this cumulative? It says reduces the time to produce various units. Does only one work per city? I ask because I noticed one of my cities has three of these but it does not seem to be able to produce units 3 turns faster than ...

RE: Simultaneous developments in a province

<t> Hmmm, is it not the same?&nbsp; I didn't know that (that there was not a concomittant delay for more than one building).&nbsp; I suppose it could make sense (since the materials would all be stockpiled presumably when construction started, and the primary restrictor would be labor).&nbsp; The ...

RE: Simultaneous developments in a province

<t> It can still be very worth it (I'm sure you guys can do the math).&nbsp; Say you start two units simultaneously that normally take 6 turns each to form.&nbsp; The first to start will be done in 6 turns, the second in 8 turns, 4 turns faster than if you wait to build them back to back (6+6=12 ...

Seaborne forces and supply

<t> Greetings folks,<br/>
<br/>
Is there any way that union (or confederate) forces landed by sea in the enemy's strategic rear can keep themselves supplied? They can't capture a province since you have to have one adjacent to it already, but shouldn't they be able to forage and/or recieve ...

<t> I am the man of a thousand questions, evidently.<br/>

RE: Question regarding PBEM and naval combat, and more (bugs?)

<t> Thanks Gil.&nbsp; I am fully patched and running Vista 64 Home Premium.&nbsp; Is there actually a die roll to determine whether a unit can break off AFTER they've successfully avoided quick combat?&nbsp; What it looks like to me is that the QC routine is running and once it's done, it should ...

RE: Brigade generals

<t> Okay, let me ask this on a different level.<br/>
<br/>
Lets say I have a division of 5 brigades. Is it useful (if you have them) to have one 2-star (div c.o.) and four 1-star for each brigade? A total of 5 generals in the division? I this useful in quick combat, or not?<br/>

Also, on ...

Question regarding PBEM and naval combat, and more (bugs?)

<t> Hello all,<br/>
<br/>
Now playing a BPEM game with latest updates. I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but when a naval battle occurs in the replay, the replay hangs, and jumps to the player turn. You can still go back to the "Events" button and read what happened, but still this is a ...

RE: Strange Combat Behavior

Yes, it only happened once. I suspected it might be just lucky dice rolls, but hadn't played the game long enough to know whether that was normal or not. I'll advise if it happens again.

Where can I find more details on the "stock" scenarios?

Just bought 1.10.10 recently and there is no description or other information I can find in the paper or e-manuals on the premises and differences in the various scenarios. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Strange Combat Behavior

<t> Recently purchased FoF, think it's great. Noticed something odd though: In one game I had a large player army versus a small computer army, the computer army would try to evade battle, and would do so successfully, however, the battle routine ('clashing of swords' and going to the quick combat ...
