Re: Planned battles

Very interesting Steve, I did watch a tutorial on this, well, it was a lot more complex, you broke it down and made it easier for tired old mind to grasp, many thx.

I am reading the link you sent, well, the link at the link posted by tamas, the Timestamp explanation was very valuable for this new ...

Re: I have noticed there....

I am replying because I have just finished reading:

"TOAW Strategy Guide - version 1.06" by Steve Knowlton and Steve Schneider dated 26 January 1999 from The Wargamer.com

There seem to be very few discussion articles on wargames these days - or have all disputes been resolved?

Planned battles

Been a long time since my last TOAW game.............anyway, jumped into Directive 21, played it a while back.
I have forgotten some of the nuances.

Is it better or does it matter if I execute planned battles all together, creating 4-5 a dozen, or do them one at a time, meaning; I plan one battle ...

Re: Movement Problem

Shouldn't the Weight & Carry Stats screen reflect that? I was left scratching my head for quite a while wondering what was going on.

So the fix for this is to find a unit with an extra heavy tractor and transfer it to this unit?

Yes, you need a specific primer mover for those guns....you have ...

Re: Movement Problem

I look at the little troop type icon, ( the small one next to the Bullets(intercept rate), that can tell you your 'carry' type status, its waking at gun mobility speed right now, sometimes ( as germans) my arty units get additions that overwhelm my horses, I scrap a few guns and the icon turns back ...

Re: Orange Trucks

One of the new items on the game that I think doesn't make much sense or trying to be to clever by half...so, there "may" be a 'unit', so I am supposed to use a unit to run around the rear area checking to be sure the units I killed havent ...what? Become zombies?

and yes 3 and 4 don't make much ...

Re: Offensive Modifier for low supplies

Supply Consumption is the units' required upkeep. So you could think of that as food, medical supplies, spare parts, etc
If a unit can't meet it's upkeep, then readiness will take a big hit.

The offensive modifier is a bit more strange. A unit uses supplies during each "round" of combat. If it ...

Re: Range of units

Heads up- be attentive with the German mixed artillery- the map will tell you are in range, but the 10.5 cm (range 10) may be out of range while the other guns are in. Applies to armored artillery (Wepse and Hummel have different ranges) as well as the couple mixed nebelwerfer units...

First; Unit stats-

what is the difference between supply consumption and offensive modifier for low supplies?

-If the unit has '3 green gas cans', meaning it hasnt consumed it supplies and 'all ...
