RE: Mines

<t> A few other observations about mines from my PBEM games.<br/>
<br/>
Minesweeper TFs sometimes sweep, and sometimes they do not.<br/>
Several times I''ve given the order to sweep and nothing happens.<br/>
<br/>
I've tried splitting the minesweeper TF into two or three separate TFs.<br ...

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>If a sub is loaded w/mines doesn't that preclude having any torps loaded into it?<e>
</e></QUOTE>
<br/>
Well, allied subs on mine missions always have one torpedo as well as mines. Quite enough to hang around and wait for a MSW.<br/>

<t> What a shame that the comment history only goes back 365 days.<br/>
Years ago there were numerous threads with a wealth of information on virtually every aspect of UV gameplay and all UV glitches.<br/>
Now, sadly, we each need to rediscover all that hard-won knowledge.<br/>

RE: Training

<t> "Adequate training for fighter A/C?"<br/>
<br/>
Do you mean what would I consider adequate training?<br/>
Well, in my experience the level of fatigue needs to be kept down to avoid operational losses.<br/>
<br/>
Normal missions tend to fly the top EXP pilots.<br/>
Training mission tends to ...

RE: Training

<t> Training is not completely useless in my experience.<br/>
The Training mission concentrates missions on the lower skilled pilots, building them up. Check the pilot roster and you will see high fatigue on all lower skill pilots.<br/>
It can save aircraft and pilots, especially where new ...

PBEM combat save replay discrepancies

<t> Just wondering if this is a known problem.<br/>
<br/>
Playing as allies in a PBEM game, I'm noticing huge discrepancies between what shows in the combat replay and what is recorded in the combatreport.txt file.<br/>
Entirely different accounts of the turn.<br/>

I vaguely recall ...

<t> PTs are amazingly effective at soaking up a raiding Japanese surface TF's operation points.<br/>
After encountering two or three small PT fleets(and with a little luck going the allies way, suffering &nbsp;a few torpedo hits) it's amazing how often a mighty Japanese bombardment TF will just ...

RE: anyone out here to begin hostilities...?

Hi,

I'm revisiting this great game from way back in 2003.
I've never played Sc19 but will give it a go.
Last game I played via email was as Allies, scenario 17 with 100/200% Allies/Japan reinforcements, versus Admiral Laurent; will check out Sc 19 now.
