Why automatic unit deselection?

<t> I like to use a single unit/stack in multiple hasty attacks, them possible move and repeat. However, after every attack the unit/stack is deselected, and I have to manually select the unit/stack again to move/attack again with the same unit. Could you add an option not to automatically unselect ...

Axis can buildup/breakdown between regiments and division only, not between dvisions and corps.

RE: Extremly Noob

<t> Ok, restart the scenario and just try to build up: In (84,39) you see 21st Guards Rifle Div and in (85,39) (one hex east) 19th Guards Riffle Div. Move the 19th Guards Riffle Div to (84,39). Now, in the hex SE you have a stack of three units. From that stack move the 28th Rifle Div to (84,39 ...

RE: Undecided

<t> The micromanagement is not the problem, unless you specifically want to micromanage. You may, for example, select AI to handle airfields bombardment (and that's not a setting, but a command that you may select every turn). There is virtually no economy/tech development (which I would rather like ...

RE: Extremly Noob

There are restrictions in building up. E.g. You can't build up ski regiments, IIRC (check the manual). Also, check that you have admin points. Naturally the unit types must be compatible - you can't build up infantry and tanks.

Why input polling? (implementation detail question)

<t> In several posts it has been mentioned that various problems are related to polling, e.g. input polling. I'm just curious, why do you need to poll input? Are you using a development platform where standard windows events can't be used, or what's the reason for polling? After all, polling is not ...

RE: CPU horde even in idle state

The 1.01 Beta completely fixes the problem. CPU usage is now 0% when idle. Thank you very much, and my CPU cooler thanks you too by being silent during the game [:)]

<QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: Apollo11<br/>
So to recap - the CPU usage is still 40-50% for one core in any case (and with any EXE) just by idling and scrolling...<br/>
<br/>
Is this correct assumption?

Yes, 40% idle, 50% scrolling. But I think these mean ...

RE: CPU horde even in idle state

<t> Correct. The original exe runs without admin rights, but UAC confirmation dialog must be accepted. The hot fix exe gives the fatal error - admin rights are required. This time the CPU usage figures were about the same as before switching from Aero to basic, and not much difference in 1024x768 ...

RE: CPU horde even in idle state

Switching to Windows Basic theme actually improved response time in higher resolutions, thanks [:)]. Oddly CPU usage was not reduced, but perhaps even increased (WitE CPU usage figures were somewhat higher than what I reported earlier, but that might be just co-incidence).

RE: CPU horde even in idle state

I'm testing now, after reboot, with both exes. Both have about the same CPU load figures in idle game screen state:

default window size: CPU load 39%
1920x1200: CPU load 46%

These figures are 10 second averages, tested with both exes.

<t> Actually, I didn't reboot my laptop after installing WitE. I just restarted and retried, but it didn't help.<br/>

Also, the GUI response time is pretty good in the default size window, but it's quite awful in 1920x1200 (Menus are also slow). I need to learn patience, I guess, because I ...
