RE: Intercepting transports - oddities

<t> I have seen similar in my game. I was attacking Suva and was flying LRCAP to try to prevent my opponent from brining in supply or extracting troops. I would get the Transports intercepted message every turn but never actually shot down any planes. Once I captured the base without his retreating ...

RE: Long Range Cap

In this case I was trying to beef up the cap on my carriers as I was expecting combat the next day. I have also tried LRCAP over ground forces in a non base hex and while they do seem to provide more than 2 fighters from a 25 plane unit, it is not many more.

Long Range Cap

<t> What settings seem to work best to maximize the number of fighters over the target for long range cap ? I had a sqd of 25 fighters set to 50% LR and 50% Rest. When the air combat ocurred there were only 2 figthers protecting the target at a range of 1 from the their base. Any assistance would be ...

RE: And the mistake was?

<t> In my limited experience with the game so far I would say you would never want to land a full Division on an Atoll the size of Baker Island ( 6,000 cap ).&nbsp; My suggestion would be an Inf Regiment supported by Combat Engineers and/or&nbsp;a Tank/TD Bn and also a USA Support Bn ( the ones with ...

RE: Dear Santa

<t> Well I will say I don't FEAR getting beat up here for my thoughts on an Official patch as I am fairly RESISTANT to such. I do however believe the developers are doing an outstanding job and I PRESUME the Publishers would support their efforts with an Official Patch as they have done in the past ...

Dear Santa

<t> All I want for Christmas is an Official Patch.<br/>
<br/>
I am currently playing 2 PBEM's. One of my opponents would like to upgrade to the latest Beta, but the other opponent and myself would rather wait for an official patch. <br/>
<br/>
Is there at least a timeline for when an Official ...

RE: Please explain

I believe the disbanding happens at the end of the turn ( in the turn sequence ), after all the air and naval moves and combat have occurred. That is the only time I have seen the disbanding TF message flash up on my screen anyway.

RE: Clemson Class DD's

<t> I am playing a PBEM that is currently into Feb 43. I converted 20 Clemsons to DE. I do not regret this choice at all. My opponent has made several comments about his sub losses ( caused using these DE's supported by ASW Air ). Now that I have a large number of ( short range ) SC's and AM's ...

RE: Game Flaw

I don't believe dropping the 2 A-bombs causes Japan to surrender within the game. That is not my understanding anyway ( I have not gotten that far yet ). They are just very nasty devices. You also still have to have a base within range to deliver said nasty devices.

RE: Carrier TF ASW air missions?

<t> Here is what I tried and it seems to be working pretty good. On my Carriers I had 1 DB Squadron train up Search and the other ASW. The Squadrons are then set to Naval with 30% either Search or ASW depending on their training. Once they combine later you can adjust the percentage. I leave them ...

RE: Air Combat Task Force Reaction

<t> Ok here is a little more detail.<br/>
<br/>
Paul's sneaky raid had been spotted 3 days before our actual engagement. I had a 2CV TF covering multiple supply and troop reinforcements going into Pago Pago and Vavua. Once the raid was spotted southwest of Suva, I started scattering the convoys ...

Air Combat Task Force Reaction

<t> Let me just start by saying I love this game.[:)]<br/>
<br/>
Now let me just say the game mechanic that causes a Carrier Task force facing 2 to 1 odds ( in June 42 ) to react away from the base that has 125 Fighters providing CAP for the battle we know is going to happen the next day to be ...

<t> If he is not into January yet I don't think Singapore could be anwhere near level 6 fort. <br/>
<br/>
The air results could be from japs sweeping at 10k and the Allied Cap at 15k+ maybe ( just a thought ).<br/>

Massive ground losses could be against a 100% prepped and Dug-in enemy ...

RE: 4E bombing accuracy

I don't know about any nerf's from WITP to AE. The only HR I have really seen concerning 4E's are No Naval Bombing below 10k. I usually keep my 4E between 10k-15k with no complaints.
