RE: Just how comprehensive are the expansions?

<r> It's been a long while since I've posted here but the preceding message caught my eye. In my estimation this game is very well supported. I started with it at the very first release of the very first game and for me at least it has proven to be the most complex 4X I have ever played. Until ...

I want to offer another example. The Witcher is an EXCELLENT game. It had the backing of of a BIG game publisher and a recoding of BioWare's Aurora engine. Sounds like a sure recipe for a game with no bugs. While it ...

RE: What will be in the next patch?

I'm happy to see that Armada 2526 is still being developed. What a wealth we have this year with Distant Worlds AND Armada 2526.

I have just one SMALL complaint though: the sound used to signify turn's end reminds me of scissors.

RE: What the Genre Needs

<r> Might I suggest this: Since it appears that DW is insanely moddable, why couldn't this community create such a mod? MANY of you are quite informed gamers and considerable historians. It seems to me at least that Distant Worlds IS what the genre HAS needed.<br/>

And we can rename stars, and well, virtually anything except the name of the game itself. I love the fact that the editor is in game.

Again, splendid AAR Okim!

Unfortunately there will always be niggles on any release - of anything. But, the positives are greatly outweighing the niggling. This game is simply fun and engrossing and it is apparent at least to me that a lot of love went into it from the devs and the testers. This one ...

RE: Micro AAR: Science at the Edge of Eternity

<r> This game really excels at immersing the player into a "living" universe. Other games like Dragon Age of course already have an edge due to the graphics and voice acting. Now we have a space 4X game that plays like a movie at least in what we add to the living cosmos instead of a spreadsheet in ...
