Just an update as I haven't checked in in quite a while but from my checks nothing has changed in patches that should affect this mod, all mods using this mod as a basis should be fine.

Yes, this came about mainly through a process of development, beta testing and trying to get the AI to do the right thing.
Supposedly if the AI does have a much higher tech one of the other it will override, but I haven't tested this personally.

Check your empire policy research priority, could be beams. Set it to phasers and as long as you have a phaser researched it should be fine.

Good question, wanted to try later game version hoping there was the refuel issues gone but I don't see anything in patch notes yet. I will probably just soldier through

I'll do one Sunday starting around 13:00.

Should be totally compatible, my list of things to add to an update always gets bigger. I might just do one for my essentials soon.
