Are the WAW games meant to be played over email? I cannot save games when I am playing the human and all other factions are AI. Where is the save game button?

I have v1.22 and cannot seem to save WAW scenarios when I am playing a human player with all other factions as AI. The button does not appear above the quit button. Am I missing something?
