RE: Does AI build artillery at all? Isn't it a bit weak?

<t> Some of you seem to be looking at artillery from a completely incorrect perspective. <br/>
<br/>
1) Unless the enemy also has artillery, you are immune to retaliation.<br/>
<br/>
2) Artillery reduces YOUR casualties. There is no better weapon for reducing an entrenched enemy unit's Readiness ...

RE: To Nuke or Not to Nuke

The 1MT warheads on the Hellraiser about about equivalent to a solid round of bombardment from an artillery regiment, with the additional downside that they create radiation. Not worth it except perhaps in an absolute emergency.

<t> I just want to chime in here again and say that I spent the better part of an hour trying to gen a planet with no bodies of water whatsoever, but I couldn't arrive at a combo that had BOTH a truly waterless surface (no ice either) AND atmospheric vapor. One of the posters above said that this ...

Thanks for the response. If there is water vapor on the world, will this be reported as a Trace Amount during planet generation?

Wind Traps?

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
The Shadow Empire manual mentions that it is possible to build Wind Traps on planets that don't have surface water, but still have trace water vapor in the atmosphere (p. 200). <br/>
<br/>
So here is the question: is it actually possible to have a planet with NO surface ...

<t> Apologies for the necro. I haven't posted here in YEARS, but I have occasionally remembered this AAR (and its goofy low-res Photobucket images) with fondness. Imagine my astonishment to log in again after so long, and to see that this AAR has now earned nearly 22,000 views. I think this has to ...
