Is it possible to mode elements of the game? I noticed that file IPWSHORT.ASC can be opened by notepad but changing values seem to make no differences in the game.

I need help. I notice that when my Capital ships go into combat that most of the weapons are not working. Only the devestator pulse works I placed one more reactor but no change.
