I'm not very experienced with the game but I've played 2 Human v Human games now (2nd still in progress), and in both games the USSR has declared war on the Axis in mid-late 1941 - before it is attacked.

Am I right in thinking there is no in-game chat or messaging feature for server-based PBEM games using the Slitherine system?

Does increasing the level of the AI (from easy to hard for example) make it do smarter things, or does it just change some 'bonus' value the AI gets in combat or similar?
