Re: Has anybody played with a direct connection?

I did extensive testing trying to direct connect without internet. Running packet captues on firewall and host and client showed it always wanted to go to a public ip first to 'setup the connection' and would return my public ip on the router. We were on LTE a few years ago, but we managed to get ...

RE: Can this game honestly be described as stable in MP?

<t> I played over LTE at a rural lakehouse using cellphone tethering multiple times. My opponent uses his phone and I use mine. Not the speediest, but no disconnects after the first major patch. Playing on fiber internet has speed and is solid. Having played both the old engine vs the new engine, I ...

RE: Has anybody played with a direct connection?

<r> direct same LAN connection would never work for me. Direct connection assumes both ips are public addresses it would seem. Behind a NAT which almost all routers do, the local ip is private. Direct connect looks at the public ip and tries to make that connection, but with both hosts under the ...

RE: Custom force pool in operation

cool. go right ahead. Ya...when it came to italians and support...there aren't much of a match, so i didn't make the effort to put their full details down. There is also the '2' map version files missing and i left out omaha for now. Eventually I may expand it.

RE: Custom force pool in operation

<r> Now i have played with this a bit, I ended up making this chart. Its the Default Force Pools for the maps and creates force pools for operations. This comes in really handy when planning.<br/>

RE: Odd Multiplayer results

<t> thanks, we are 100mb fiber internet, so i don't think it was a latency or bandwidth type of problem. Lowering resolution on both sides a bit, using moderate gfx setting, changing the host and using fewer units with elite/veteran settings were helpful. we had many more battles that did work fine ...

<t> Its been a while since I posted on this topic, but I have more information.<br/>

In the previous mention of this, my opponent and I were remote, my game ended, but after several lengthy minutes, I called my friend and he said "we were still playing" and I could hear our battle raging in ...

RE: Custom force pool in operation

this is exactly what i needed. thanks. I have been able to make small support unit modifications here and there to make the force pools a bit more flexible in operations.

played several h2h operations since patch...i noticed surrendering and in the cases they seemed reasonable. with combat raging i didn't pay too close attention to it. but i thought it improved from before.

Odd Multiplayer results

<t> 2 times Friday night..i hosted default bocage as germans with both on elite settings. in at least 2 cases of battles. As the host. the game ended with a morale failure leaving one vl for us on the first map. The odd thing was, my opponent, who as we communicated on the phone, he continued to ...

<t> its all good. was able to make connects via Lobby using LTE hotspots 38ms 30 down worked well enough. game speed a bit slow; however, modern laptops, without best graphics horsepower still playable. RE: Multiplayer Direct Connection

<r> that scenario might make sense if both client and host had different public ips and routers. However, most home users wont have this, they will come from the same public ip, but behind the firewall the host and client will usually exist on the same subnet. Routers and firewalls don't like to ...
