TOAW 4 tutorial

<r> I wrote a tutorial for the game based on my own experiences of trying to learn it, with an emphasis on teaching how to manipulate the UI, and how to translate strategy into action.<br/>

Wargamers do this all the time: turning Russia into a battleship grey, coloring France blue, painting the Pacific Ocean a bright yellow, and so on.

And a WitP-2? Has there ever been a wargame with such a dedicated fan base? Maybe it wasn't as commercially successful? I never got far into it but it seems like it is a very active forum especially considering when it was released.

<t> You could make a pretty good argument that the impact and contribution (and life-expectancy) of any single soldier on a WW1 battlefield would be so minor (and short and brutal) that you couldn't represent any sort of compelling gameplay with it.<br/>

RE: A Cautionary Tale

<t> Realism would ideally be a way to allow "gameplay balance" to fall into one's lap as-is, and make the learning curve easier for players by letting them use actual tactics instead of having to learn the idiosyncrasies of the particular ruleset you're using, but if you have a super-detailed game ...
