So, I save a game. When I hit enter, the mouse pointer vanishes. Only way to get it back was to blow the program away in task manager (Yes, it worked fine in task manager, but it vanished from the game entirely)

Re-downloaded and re-installed from scratch and, after 2 tries, got it working.
Did still get a wonderfule registry error:

Invalid RegKey: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\MatrixGames\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition

but it does seem to be working.
