RE: Steam sale thread

<t> Well Tank Warfare Tunisia 43 is heavily on sale at Steam. It's obviously the kinda of mistake that happens every time a Steam sale happens, where someone enters the wrong percentage for the discounts. In this case the complete edition with all DLC is actually cheaper then the standalone game ...

RE: Battle For Korsun ' out soon'.

Do the games allow PBEM? I do like the look of the game, and always want to support independent developers, but that was a bit unclear from the Steam page.

RE: ---> TYW patch 1.02RC available NOW! <---

<t> There's been a similar post over on the AGE-OD forums, but I think there may have been some confusion in the response. I've started a fresh GC with the RC patch playing as the HRE, and I am aware there are no units to build in the start of the scenario. But come January of the next year ...

RE: How did the Germans do it?

<t> Keep in mind German casualty figures are a bit suspect. One major source (*which I am forgetting the exact name of at the moment, but hope to place in here shortly), argues compellingly that military casualties were under-reported while civilian ones exaggerated.<br/>

I think against the AI it may not be as important to continue it. You usually get some relationship benefits by canceling it. Against a human I think you need to limit mobility as much as possible so I always continue it.

RE: Downside of using D+12 Offensive for 12 days

I'm in complete agreement as well. Air offensive for as long as possible. It's such an obvious choice, that maybe it should cost PP, and the 0 PP option should be switching over directly to tactical air support.

<t> I agree completely that the siege artillery is over-powered, but also think the garrison bonus might be a bit to big, at least in minor cities.<br/>

<t> Actually Sertorious works well as a potential co-op. Early on, the Pontians and Sertorious can strike an alliance, they share a common enemy, and never realistically would have any reason to fight each other.<br/>

It also works extremely well (maybe even is designed to be played as), a 2 ...

RE: Play Balance - PBEM

<t> Three suggestions I would make to balance the game a bit more is to first, change the AP penalty for previous combats to more like they were in DC1/2. Previously, creating a breakthrough was a bit of an art form, as one usually needed to use the fast divisions in the initial attacks (in a ...

<t> I gotta agree that the game seems heavily weighted towards the Germans at the moment. <br/>

RE: Steam Services Status

Also you got to give Steam credit for being absolutely vital to all in the innovative independent small games that have come out over the last few years. Without a large central market like Steam, I highly doubt we would have had anything like the diversity of games we have now.

RE: Steam Services Status

<t> All said, it still boggles the mind how big Steam is. I've always wondered, given (probably) most people on Steam actually spend money in the service, versus the vast majority of people who spend absolutely nothing on Facebook, how much Valve would be worth if they went public. My suspicion is ...

Technically it's not 10 million but 125 million. I was curious to google that after your comment--- I honestly thought the total number of Steam users would be much higher than that.

<t> As I read this thread more, I'm coming down on that helpers should be in the game for PBEM, as one plays a "mid-level" commander (if that's the right word for Halder) where resources are being withheld from a higher level, and in certain circumstances he might want to play all his connections to ...

RE: Helpers

Yeah, they do trigger VP penalties. I'm not experienced enough with the game system yet to judge how significant those penalties actually are, but assuming they are balanced, I actually like their inclusion to simulate emergency measures at times of crisis/ opportunity.

RE: Thoughts after first full game

I personally prefer the DC1 style to the DC2/DC3 one, and have always been surprised they didn't keep using the DC1 tile set. Beyond being far more pleasing to my eyes, in DC1 it's far easier to see rivers.
