RE: Bob Flemin's MWIF AARse

<t> Enjoying your AAR. Took guts to just hang yourself out there. A suggestion to help those of us who aren't following super closely. <br/>
Its hard to tell what is going on (mostly which turn/impulse) when you say " the turn ends" I find myself wondering which turn. I suggest you put the ...

<t> In many cases you can 'work around' this issue. (I know that this is not optimal...) <br/>

The existing UI will permit the following:<br/>
<br/>
Swapping from Hex A to B if C is available C needs to be adjacent to either A or B and C must have 'space'<br/>

RE: netplay issue

My understanding is that Emailing bug reports requires an actual email client. So if you use GMail or another web based service, a client is needed as well. During testing I have used Mozilla Thunderbird with Gmail which seems to work pretty well.

RE: Is this too big of a game for the casual player?

<t> Its a completely different animal. No where near as much micro detail as War in the Pacific, but still pretty huge. The scenarios are much more playable, particularly Barbarossa. This game very closely matches the board game experience IMO (Been beta testing since March & played the board game ...

<t> It is actually two different games:<br/>
Vrs AI you face MASSIVE USSR forces impossible to build as a player (about 10 times as strong as a human gets) PvP is unbalanced worse in the opposite direction USSR is weak as a kitten. Neither is 'historical' in any real sense.<br/>

RE: Why is Cherbourg not a port?

<r> It was a critical port it was and was fortified and defended. Rather than take one of the major ports 'off the map' I recommend you handle it differently. As it was a very significant port it should be included. To handle play balance as well as historical accuracy issues perhaps fortification ...

RE: Gotterdamerung Allies vs AI mini AAR

<r> I do agree this is a very good game, but of course with a few flaws. For example you can't actually 'achieve victory' as currently designed. Game doesn't end with surrender of Germany and Germany won't surrender if you still control some silly place like Narvik (like Gibraltar and Malta hold the ...

I cannot replicate your issue (using 1.04). When I click on quick start the 1939 scenario is already highlighted. When I pick a country (I tried Axis and Allies and USSR) the game launched and started the 1939 scenario. I cannot 'not' select a campaign as one is already ...

RE: Bug report - - 1.04 CTD on save game load

<t> Sounds like a tough problem. Usually an uninstall clears all relevant registry entries. I know it sounds useless, but a re install, then another uninstall may clear it (the uninstall may have hung on a step.) It is not a high chance of success but it can't hurt. <t> Re Italy:<br/>
This pretty much mirrored my experience vrs the AI. I would add that vrs a human Axis player moving in Italy would be MUCH more difficult (if possible at all) , particularly as the GE move first and could reinforce and re position more effectively. This does mirror the historical ...

<t> Getting a fairly regular occurrence of a crash to desktop. The fleets.csv file is getting a 'bad row' or bad rows of data written to it. The AI is running both GE and USSR and it appears to be associated with AI fleet activity (just a guess) this happens every few turns and is resolved by ...

RE: Why does amphibious invasion cost jump?

<t> Amph points go up in price (for each) the more you have (kind of a reverse economy of scale). I am not sure of the rationale (and not sure I agree with it) but I think they are trying to limit unrealistically large landings. Also you need to land foot infantry units (much cheaper than armor or ...

RE: Game is unplayable

<r> I have to agree with Gary. It IS playable, but must add that some scenarios are way out of balance. Also divisions are not worthless they can be useful, you just can't attack with them (at least without some corps in the mix and they cannot stand up to a group of higher effectiveness corps with ...
