RE: New patch in the works

What is an Admirals Edition?

+1 USAAF-only Long Campaigns (say no to night bombing! ;) )

RE: Full campaign without Bomber Command?

For me, I would like just the option of playing USAAF. I just like to hit industries more than population centers :)

So I would be happy with AI taking over BC and no graphic resolution.

RE: Full campaign without Bomber Command?

But then I still have to wait for all BC missions to have flown etc.
Is there no way to completely remove them from a long campaign, mod them out?

RE: Radar questions

<t> Many thanks for your insight warshipbuilder.

And as for dreamwesver, I also start with taking out Radar Stations but thats why I want to know if these are viable approaches.
And not for a few turns.
If you are new to the game and start to tell what people should do in ...

RE: Suggestions for future patches

Oh wow a sigh from a military intelligence retiree.
The military must have become less intelligent upon your retirement. I suggested Muddlebrook because apparently you also missed out on a decades old game like Bombing the Reich. Have fun with your package.

Full campaign without Bomber Command?

<t> Some of the scenarios are without night bombing, USAAF only.
Is it possible to mod the game a bit to get a full campaign with 600+ turns without the bomber command part?

I am a Mighty 8th fan, not a Bomber Command guy really...
But I want to play the full war without ...

RE: Suggestions for future patches

<t> Historically I believe there is no such thing as a Bomber Command Mission Package with multiple individual routes.
Bomber Command would give 1 or 2 targets per night and plan the best route for the stream avoiding flak and what not.
Then the whole stream would try its best to follow ...

A long answer isn't as clear... so here's the short version.

Why wouldn't you want to take out a radar site?
Only possible disadvantage I see is MAYBE tipping off a raid is coming nearby.
But if you took it out a few ...

Radar questions

First off, what is the difference between red and white circles? I can see the whites are longer range but anything else?

And is it a viable strategy to knock them out? There are so many of them.

So from that thread I can conclude clouds always move at the same speed at a 45 deg angle?
Wind direction never changes?

RE: New Gary Grigsby's Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich Beta

<t> I understand the clouds and their base/ceiling.
But I guess there is no way to tell which way the wind blows at Mission Start? I can plan a mission because I see a clearing but then the clouds move and block the target when I play the turn. Is it correct to say that's a bit of a guessing ...

RE: New patch in the works

Fair enough!
would if I could but not a programmer at all...

But how does message scrolling work now? How do I determine where flak is without sitting through the whole mission and pinpointing each frame?

Bombing campaign: does economy work?

<t> Question on the Pointblank strategic bombing campaign.

I know there is a VP distribution, you get this amount per target etc. etc.

But can I actually starve the Luftwaffe of fuel, if I target synthetic fuel or oil or fuel targets?
Can I stop production if I target ...

Wonderful, I am excited!

Will there be a savegame data export possibility for Excel as there once was, for more convenient message reading?
